Power of The Primes And More Listed in Toys R Us Computers

A Toys R Us employee who has provided good inside information two times previously has come back once more to share new findings from the retailer's computer inventory system. We've got listing info showing the pricepoints of Power of The Primes, which aligns correctly with official releases we've seen already. But there's also an unexpected few other items among all of this. And the best part is that it all has "do not sell before" lockout dates, which give a clue when to expect it all! Keep reading!

TRA GEN PRIME MASTER - 140306 - $5.99 - 12/01/17
TRA GEN PRIME LEGENDS -140055 - $9.99 - 12/01/17
TRA GEN PRIME DELUXE - 140454 - $16.99 - 12/01/17
TRA GEN PRIME VOYAGER - 140713 - $29.99 - 12/01/17
TRA GEN PRIME LEADER - 139944 - $49.99 - 1/01/18

TRA ENERGON IGNITRS NITRO - 140788 - $19.99 - 04/20/18
TRA ENERGON IGNITRS PWR-140950 - $9.99 - 04/20/18
TRA ENERGON IGNITRS SPD - 141140 - $5.99 04/01/18

TRA TINY TURBO CHANGERS - 141183 - $2.99 - 04/20/18

EX TRA OPTIMUS STARSCREAM SET - 141434 - $24.99 - 01/01/18
EX TRA STREET RACER - 141450 - $16.99 - 01/01/18

This shows that Toys R Us at least will be following along the SRP increase on Voyagers and Leaders for Power of The Primes, but everything else will remain at current Generations normal pricing at the time of its introduction. Note also that the lockout dates start the first of December, which would likely indicate that they expect at least some stores to have inventory on hand by that point. It is typical to expect the earliest appearance of a new year's first wave before the end of the preceding year (ex: Combiner Wars wave 1 hitting the US in late December 2014), and this supports that still being the case - and also hinting that we might see first in hand looks from Asia by the end of next month, potentially.

It looks like as of April 2018 we'll see a new round of Tiny Turbo Changers. These have no movie affiliation listed with them, possibly pointing at something more general purpose. Maybe to support the new non-Generations main line?

We've also got some curiosities. First is "Energon Igniters" which is divided among three price points. One is labeled Nitro, and while some may hope to see that as a specific reference to the movie character, that might be too quick of an associative leap. With no particular sign of what this even is, it seems safer to guess that these are class distinctions: Nitro Class, Power Class, Speed Class. It looks like we'll probably have to wait until Toy Fair before we could get an official explanation for these, as they have a lockout date also in April of 2018.

Finally, two exclusive items: A two pack of Optimus and Starscream at $24.99, and something called "Street Racer" at $16.99. My speculation is that these are some form of the "Cyberverse" series we're expecting to take over as the "main" line following RID's conclusion. The January 1 2018 could help point to this; Robots in Disguise began appearing roughly the same time as Combiner Wars, so the product should be available by this point. With no existing product we can think of that would suit this application and meet the pricing shown, and not knowing right now what the price point layout of the next toyline will look like, the possibilities are still open. Unfortunately, "Street Racer" could basically be anything, but it's notable it's at the very same price as a standard Deluxe.

It's uncertain right now what level of presence Hasbro will have at New York Comic Con next month. Some new exclusives may very well be unveiled there as has happened previously. If not, we'll just have to hope for a direct reachout to the fansites with the information at an appropriate time in advance of the release of some of these things so we know what's up before just running in to it on a shelf one day - not that it isn't fun to get a surprise now and then!
