Land Military Team - Armada - Figures

Tiny little military vehicles are nothing new in the TFs line. From Warpath to Bludgeon to various Micromasters, there's enough mobile hardware to start a regiment. But how many of these toys boast weapons that can actually fire?

BONECRUSHER

Missile Truck Mode: A black, red, light grey, and gold missile truck that measures 5.5 cm(2.2") long, 7.5 cm(3") with the missile loaded. Rolls along on six wheels, with two more sculpted on. Impressive features includes a fuel tank attached to the rear, detailed hubcaps, and the fact that the launcher can rotate as well as elevate. The bulbous red missile launches by pushing on the end until it pops out, travelling a little over a foot.

Visible robot bits include the face and a fist.

Transformation: Wow. For such a little guy, Bonecrusher's got one involved transformation. Basically, one whole side of the truck rotates around 180 degrees and reconnects to form the robot. Clever.

Robot Mode: In robot mode, Bonecrusher stands 5.5 cm tall. His face is gold with a green and red Borg-like head piece that's formed from the truck's fuel tank. He's articulated at the shoulders, left elbow, hips, and knees. His right arm consists of the missile launcher, and when loaded, is longer than his body. And it's fairly heavy, making the figure prone to toppling
over. His fist has a peg hole, but I've been unable to find a weapon to fit in it.

Bonecrusher's faction symbol is etched onto his launcher. Overall, a neat little warmonger. 8/10

KNOCK OUT

APC Mode: A 6x6 armoured personnel carrier with a spring-loaded missile launcher mounted on top. Mostly mustard-tan with black wheels and windows, silver panels on the sides, and a red missile. From end to end, Knock Out is 4.5 cm(1.8") long, 7 cm(2.8") with missile loaded. The launcher is about the size of a G1 Dinobot's, and packs one helluva punch, shooting the missile over a metre. Fear this guy.

Transformation: Very reminiscent of a G1 mini car, with the arms flipping out from the sides, the rear unfolding to form the legs, and the front of the APC becoming the chest.

Robot Mode: Knock Out stands about 5.5 cm tall, with the launcher adding another centimetre. His face is red without any visible eyes or mouth. Looks kinda similar to Tankorr's visage. Again, he's very similar to a G1 toy, with a vehicular chest, arms with wheels on them, huge lower legs, and a shoulder weapon. The launcher makes him slightly backheavy. Knock Out is articulated at the shoulders, hips, and knees. His faction symbol is located on his left shin.

Knock Out's probably the best out of the Land Military Team. Good APC mode, powerful launcher, and tough-looking robot mode. 9/10

WRECKAGE

Tank Mode: Wreckage is a type of missile tank, 5 cm(2") long, 7 cm(2.75") when loaded. Mostly pine green with black viewports, black treads, metallic silver armour plating, and light grey launchers with red missiles. The detailing on Wreckage is superb, especially the tank's treads. Naturally, the treads don't roll; instead there's four small wheels mounted on the bottom. The missiles are pressure ones, launching the same way as Bonecrusher's. They fly for about a foot.

Transformation: The simplest of the three. Launchers fold down to become arms, front end of the tank unfolds to become legs.

Robot Mode: Wreckage stands about 5.5 cm tall. His face is silver with a red visor and a streamlined profile, and he's got tiny grenade launchers mounted on either side. His launchers have arms and fists sculpted into them, a smart touch. Out of the three, he's got the least articulation: ball-jointed shoulders and knees that fold back.

All in all, a satisfactory toy. 7.5/10

Overall, Susp Sez: Arguably the best out of the first wave Mini-Con sets. The vehicle and robot modes are neat, the working missile launchers rule, and no doubt these guys'll look great attached to Megatron, Demolishor, or Cyclonus. Make no mistake, these little powerhouses could mop the floor with the Micromaster Autobot Battle Patrol or the Decepticon Military Patrol. 8.2/10
