Mini-Con Space Team - Armada - Figures

I just recently picked up this mini con team at Wal mart. They go together to make the Requiem Blaster. Is the team good? Bad? Read on. I'll start with...

Skyblast:

Vehicle mode: Skyblast is a space shuttle. It's not terrible looking, but its robot head and legs stick out too much. Its color scheme is red, white, and blue. Eh. Not a bad vehicle mode.

Transformation: Pull the legs apart. Pull the legs down. Close the thrusters together. Flip the head up. Flip the shuttle head around. Flip the blue thruster around. Twist the torso forward. Presto.

Robot mode: The red white and blue are much more apparent here. There are some nice details, and a bit of articulation for a minicon. My only complaint is how bulky his right arm is.

Overall: Not the best, not the worst. 7.

Payload:

Vehicle mode: His vehicle mode is a truck-thing. This mode is sort of poor, In my opinion. The red clashes too much with the black, making his legs too visible. His head is, too. but, you can put the Skyblast on payload, and it looks so much better. Nice vehicle mode, with skyblast at least.

Transformation: Take the legs apart. Take the handle looking thing, and pull it up to his head. Twist his torso. Pull down his chest plate and arms.

Robot made: Um. . . so-so. His legs are pretty articulate, but his arms are the opposite. And he has a honkin' chest cavity. His head is pretty detailed. overall, weird robot mode. I kinda like it.

Overall: I like Payload, but I can understand why many don't. Best in vehicle mode with Skyblast. 7.

Astroscope:

satellite mode: Finally, the weirdest one of the team. In this mode, He's pretty well detailed. His arm just hangs there. . . annoying. His head is very visible, but it has little camera looking things on it, making it sort of blend in. It can shoot a little rocket. Neat-o.

Transformation: Fold the leg pieces together. pull up his head. Pull his arms down, and his chest pieces up. Latch them together.

Robot mode: I like how this goes together. His arms want to keep coming off, though. The only problem I have with this mode is that he can't aim his cannon. ><

Overall: Nice minicon, one of my favorites despite his flimsy-ness.

Requiem blaster:

transformation: (all members should be in vehicle form)Pull payload's handle thing up. twist his feet up as well. Twist Skyblast's nose to the side, and connect him to payload. It looks flimsy, but don't worry, it stays together well. Twist Astroscope's arm, and slide in in the chamber where Skyblast's nose is. Ta da.

It looks flimsy, but like I said before, it isn't. It looks pretty neat, but there are few figures that can hold it even remotely well. ;)

Overall, Very nice blaster. 9.

This team is worth every penny, even with its drawbacks.
