In seems that the super powerful Warship, Tidal Wave, has arrived to assist Megatron and his fellow decepticons. He comes with his trusty, yet VERY tiny mini-con, Ramjet.
RAMJET: Ramjet is perhaps the TINIEST mini-con to date. He is extremely small but is also very neat. He can be folded up a certain way as to where he can be stored inside the aircraft carrier a.k.a. one of Tidal Wave's arms.
TRANSFORMATION: Ramjet is very simple to transform. First, fold down the legs, then fold up the feet , next fold down the arms, and finally fold back and then down the plane cockpit.
GIMMICKS: Ramjet can access very few gimmicks on Tidal Wave. He can rotate the anti air turrets on the Anti Air Craft, he can go in his little compartment inside the Air Craft Carrier, or he can sit in one of the seats on the Troop Transport. For a robot as big as Tidal Wave is, I would have expected more gimmicks. I will subtract 1 point for lack of more gimmicks.
Now on to the cream of the crop. Tidal Wave.
TIDAL WAVE: Tidal Wave has many different things to do. First, he can stay seperate as 3 ships, or combine into a Warship.
GIMMICKS: The only gimmick for the ships not already mentioned is the ability of the Anti Air Craft to fire 2 missles.
WARSHIP: To make the warship, simply take the Troop carrier, seperate the parts so you reveal the little "claw" and then snap it into the back of the Anti Air Craft. the fold up and down the front of the Anti Air Craft. After that, attach the Aircraft carrier to the holes on each side of the Anti Air Craft using the pegs on the back.
ROBOT MODE: You can transform him into robot mode 2 ways. The first way is having the ships seperated, the second is having them combined into the Warship. I will go over the transformation with the Warship. From this mode, fold up the parts of the Troop Transport and turn them 180 degrees and then fold them down. Now flip out the feet and stand him up. Next rotate the Turret platform on the Anti Air Craft 180 degrees. Then pull up the head. Next fold up and then flip down the air craft carrier parts. Now turn the fronts until you see his hands. Flip up the thumbs and your done. He stands quite tall, much taller than Galvatron yet shorter than Unicron. Hes Probably close to the height of Super Prime.
GIMMICKS: No new gimmicks become available. You can flip up the turrets on his chest for some gun action but he has no laser gun to hold, No fireable missles, nothing at all. Due to the design of his hands, he cannot hold any mini-con formed weapons such as the Star Saber or the Requiem Blaster. This is a drawback casue you would expect a figure so big to be able to hold something like the Star Saber. Minus another point.
OVERALL: Tidal Wave is a very fun figure. Even his lack of Mini-con interactive gimmicks and his crappy hands, He is well worth the $30 you have to pay for him (although I got him for $25 at a Wal-Mart). I would say to most definately pick him up. He is great for fighting Super Prime and any other large robot (except Unicron which can crush ANY of the other Armada figures). Final Score: 8 out of 10.
