Hoist & Refute - Armada - Figures

Well I finally picked up my Hoist today and I must say he is pretty interesting, even the mini-con is very nice.

REFUTE: The mini-con you get with Hoist is BY FAR the LARGEST mini-con to date. He is almost 3 inches long in vehicle mode id you include his pincers.

TRANSFORMATION: To transform Refute, siply fold up the arms, rotate the torso, and pull down the legs. Very simple. In robot mode Refute is even bigger, measuring possibly 3 1/2 inches.

GIMMICKS: Refute has a gimmick of his own in his vehicle mode. If you move him forward or backward, his pincers oppen and close. With Hoist, he can activate a gimmick the extends and then retracts Hoist's claw. The sad thing is that this gimmick can be done without Refute and all other mini-con ports are static.

HOIST: Hoist is big. Bigger than just about every Super-con is not THE biggest. He is very cool looking in vehicle mode but a better approach would have been making him yellow like a REAL bulldozer instead of mostly white.

TRANSFORMATION: Transformation is also simple with Hoist. First fold back the legs, then flip out and up his feet to position the legs. Flip up head and then move arms and legs as you please. Fold out thumb and fingures on Hoist's left arm and there you have it. In this mode Hoist looks very cool and his gimmick still works. A new feature is that he can hold certian minicons in his hand due to a static port in the middle of it.

OVERALL: Hoist is a great Armada figure with a very big and very well done mini-con. Although he doesnt have many gimmicks and is not very poseable, he is still better than others **coughSideswipecough**. I think Hoist will please many Transformers fans and I give him an 8 out of 10.
