Powerlinx Jetfire & Comettor - Armada - Figures

This appears to be the second powerlinx release in Asheville N.C. and he is quite impressive. Powerlinx Jetfire may be the same as regular Jetfire, but his robot mode looks better with the blue.

JETFIRE: Jetfire is a Space Shuttle, and is you have the regular version, a darn good replica of one. In his Powerlinx version, he loses some of the shuttle look, but he is still a space shuttle none-the-less. His is quite nice looking in his shuttle mode with a storge copartment for a few mini-cons.

GIMMICKS: The only gimmicks I know of in this mode are his gun sounds, and attaching Comettor to the underside of the nose for "landing gear." Then there is the already mentioned storage compartment.

TRANSFORMATION: Fold down his feet, pull down the legs, fold out his arms, pull his arms out, rotate and turn wings up, flip the front of the jet down, flip up head, and then flip out his little "shoulder guards." Now your done.

GIMMICKS IN ROBOT MODE: I don't really know of any gimmicks in his robot mode except for the fact that his gun lights up and mades sounds when you press the button on it. He also has a shield which you can attach to his arm. His lack of features in robot mode don't detract from the toy due to his other features. In robot mode he looks pretty cool, especially with his blue legs and wings.

COMETTOR: His mini-con has the same name but is a different color than the original. Everything is pretty much the same with him. I don't feel the need to spend too much time with his mini-con because it is only a VERY small part of Jetfire, and has nothing to do with Jetfire's ultiamte feature.

COMBINING: Jetfire's ULTIMATE feature is indeed his ability to become the legs of Super Optimus Prime. All you have to do is, from robot mode, slid in arms and legs, flip down head, and close shoulder guards, then flip up front of jet, fold arms in chest, flip down sides of jet nose and then fold down the top part of the nose, and finally, rotate and fold down his wings. Now your ready to put Optimus Prime on him. I have Powerlinx Optimus Prime along with Powerlinx Jetfire which in my opinion looks the best of all possible combinations, especially if you have Overload connected too. When all 3 are combined, they are WAY taller than even Powermaster Optimus Prime. This is by far the TALLEST Optimus ever (even though it is 3 vehicles). For some laughs, and even more height, pull out Jetfire's legs. It looks rather stupid but it makes it even bigger.

VEHICLE COMBINING: If you already have Optimus Prime and overload, you know that they can connect in vehicle mode to make pretty much a mobile battle station. You can expand this even more by setting Jetfire on top of Overload. There aren't any connecting pegs that I know of, Jetfire just sits there. It is a nice fit and Jetfire won't fall off too easily, but it has happened. All in all this mode looks cool.

OVERALL: Powerlinx Jetfire is a very nice addition to Armada collection. However, if you have a regular Jetfire already, I would pass. Unless you don't yet have a Jetfire, or are a completionist, your not really missing anything by not getting him. The only thing that might be worth it if you have the original is that it looks cooler if you have blue legs on Super Prime instead of the gray ones the original Jetfire gives him. I also just found the overall color scheme to be much better. I guess in closing, don't have a Jetfire yet? Well, get Powerlinx version for sure. I give this a 10/10.
