Jawbreaker - Beast Wars - Figure

What kid wouldn't love to play with a mechanized hyena that transforms into a runt of a robot? Well, if you go by how many of these sat on the pegs until they went clearance, not too many seem to want Jawbreaker.

Transformation
Although not a bad toy, Jawbreaker (originally named Cackle) is one that has a couple of nuances that limit the amount of fun you can have with him. When transforming to his hyena form, the shoulder blades have to be lined up just right or they won't lock into place. There is no real trick to it, just practice. Another thing that may contribute to his lack of popularity is the fact that he's possibly the shortest of the deluxe Beast Wars Maximals. He tops out at 4 1/2 inches while most are at least 5 1/2 to 6 inches.

Robot Mode
The thing that I really like about Jawbreaker is his height in robot mode. Although short, he's packed with details and weapons. His left shoulder has a trio of grenade launchers and his sword is absolutely huge and deadly looking considering it's the hyena tail. His right arm consists of the hyena head and spine. The head is on a ball joint, so it's fairly posable. Pushing the button at the end of hit arm activated the spinning action of the blade in his arm. This is one Maximal that's ready for battle.

Overall
I say give Jawbreaker a shot. He's definitely worth the money if you got him on clearance and is challenging enough without being too frustrating.
