Stinkbomb - Beast Wars - Figure

Usually, when the smaller of the Transformers toys come out, they are lacking in details and have overly simplified transformations. Stinkbomb is the exception to the rule.

Beast Mode
In skunk mode, Stinkbomb measures in at around 6 inches from the front paws to the curve of his tail. Opening the panel on his left rear leg reveals the Maximal Spark crystal, while doing so on the other side reveals an oddly detailed ball-thing. His tail can be positioned a number of ways thanks to the ball joint it's connected to. And (thanks to Zobovor for pointing this feature out), the exhaust ports on the inner sides of the skunk can be rotated backward. So, you can position him with his butt in the air to spray his enemies with his fragrance .

Transformation
Transformation is refreshing for a Transformer of Stinkbomb's size. Spread out the limbs to make things go smoother. Next, rotate the skunk head down and back as far as it will go and bring the back of the animal around. Flip the panel that the robot head rests on upward and push the back and skunk head assembly into the torso until you hear a click, then close the robot head panel. Straighten out the front legs and turn the hips 180 degrees. Move the rear animal feet upwards, into the leg and bring the robot arms down from behind.

Robot Mode
In robot mode, the little stinker measures in at 4 1/2 inches. His tail can be positioned either behind him, like a ponytail, or in front for use as a weapon. It has a two-pronged claw that can be rotated around to scratch and grab. Those exhaust ports can also be rotated in front to give the impression of grenade launchers. Stinkbomb also has a nicer robot head than most of his Transmetal 2 brethren. A red super hero-type mask surrounds his face, giving him a truly heroic appearance.

Overall
Stinky here was definitely worth his $4.99 retail price and is still readily available in many stores these days in a Predacon three-pack as Gas Skunk (along with Slapper and Dark Scream). If you get the chance, pick this Beast Warrior up. You won't be disappointed.
