Energon Cliffumper is a sort of big, large dune buggy (or something like that). Its vehicle mode appears cool well designed, but it's a bit unstable; it would have not been difficult to lock tight everything together, but it wasn't so in the end.
Its transformation is nor easy neither difficult...but FUN. This is more important, I think. C. even has 2 guns available, coming from vehicle mode. Irohide and Snowcat instead don't have proper weapons to hold.BUt...when u get its robot mode, u realize that something it's wrong.
Its legs.
The whole front section of the car becomes its legs: big, long, large, bulky legs...and there are stabilizers (see rodimus) too! Of the useless type, anyway: its legs are so big that u won't need them.
Seeing from the front, u have a great tf with a very cool design...but if u think of it RUNNING or only walking...u can think of Ironhide as an elegant swan is comparison.
Articulation is good: arms do not swiwel and its torso won't move, but overall u can get several good poses.
Powerlink modes:
this is where this toy shines! Even if its robot mode has some problem, once u start combining C. with other tfs u forget anything else. Its "shirt" mode is great, well proportioned and greatly designed; its BIG legs now are its arms, so Powerlink Cliffumper has these big, bulky arms...but....thanks to the fact that it has a green and gold arm "panel" attached on the inside of the leg, this won't bother u: colors' contrast is more than enough to give coolness to this mode. with ironhide, looks perfect, in colors, proportions, articulation and...FUN.
"pants" mode: nothing to say: u have a pretty short body (especially comparing itwith Jetfire), long legs and good feet. Those green and gold "arm panels" now are stabilizers...and they absolutely do their job" even with alll that kibble in its back, a powerlink combination with cliffumper as legs stands up nicely and w/o difficulties at all! Again, with Ironhide u get the greatest results.
Bottom line: go get this figure: it's FUN, cool, well designed...and even if its robot mode legs suck a bit, all its other modes are awesome. Recommended.
