Ultra Magnus & Over-Run - Universe - Figures

Since I got into collecting late in Armada, I missed out on the Supercon, or 'Bendy' Prime as he's often called, but with his repaint in the TFU Battle In a Box series, I was able to get this little gem. I won't review Treadshot and Nightbeat though.

Mini-Con: Over-Run

Not renamed, but slightly repainted, now all shades of grey, save for white shoulders and landing gear, orange cockpit, and black wheels.

The transformation is simple, open the arms, pull down the nose of the plane, fold the wings back and split his legs. His visor is yellow. For gun mode, fold the wings toward the wheels and push the tailfin back to reveal the gun handle.

Simple, a bit kibble-y, but nice. 7 out of 10.

Figure: Magnus

I call him Magnus, since he's painted like the G1 version and the upcoming Masterpiece in white, shades of blue trim, some grey and silver, with a little yellow, red, and neon green.

When he was shipped, his arm sheaths were backwards, making normal arm articulation not possible. However, using a small screwdriver, patience, and some elbow grease, you can push the pin out of both and switch them around.

He also has the problem of smokestacks not staying on, but I fixed that with two clear elastic bands that came with the figure. Also, it might not be on every one, but mine and a friend's had some extra plastic in the inside of the head socket, making the head always face to the side. This can be removed with gentle scraping with a sharp knife. Be careful, take only slight amounts out at a time, or your head will wind up loose. I think that's all the glitches with this version of the toy.

Transformation is also simple, open and fold down the grill, pull the arms from the sides of the cab and slide the sheaths up, pull the front of the truck apart and down to make the shoulders, extend the legs and fold the feet down.

Nifty little reincarnation of Bendy Prime, 9.5 out of 10, due to manufacturing screwups.
