Landfill - RiD - Figure

LANDFILL (Charming name)

Transformation
Forming the front torso and legs of Landfill is pretty easy. Forming the back and arms is definitely not, whether it's Grimlock, Heavyload, or Hightower you're using. The three large Build Teamers snap together in a triangular formation via their connector rods. From there it's simply a matter of inserting the peg on Wedge's back into the hole formed by the three rods and then twisting Wedge into position and snapping him into place. Wedge needs to be removed in order to go from one configuration to another, but the other three robots can remain together during transformation. As a rule, the weapon of the Build Teamer forming Landfill's arms can either be held as a weapon or stored on the gestalt's back in some way. Landfill stands just over 20 cm(8") tall in all three configurations. He is articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows, claws, hips, and knees.

Grimlock Configuration
This is Landfill's standard configuration, with Grimlock as the back and arms and Heavyload and Hightower as the right and left legs respectively. Heavyload's chomping weapon attaches to the bottom of Landfill's forearm, while Hightower's rifle and Grimlock's shovel saw fit into his clawed hands. The shovel can also attach to the back of Grimlock's head. This is the least stable of Landfill's configurations: Wedge pops out of place fairly easily.

Heavyload Configuration
With Heavyload as the arms, Hightower as the right leg, and Grimlock as the left one, Landfill now has more powerful-looking arms ending in bigger claws. Also, Wedge stays in place much better in this form. The saw shovel and rifle again attach to Landfill's claws, while the shield/chomper attaches by flipping out one of the gestalt feet on Landfill's forearms. It doesn't attach very well however, so I usually store it on Landfill's back. This is my favourite configuration, even if Landfill does look weird with only one foot.

Hightower Configuration
Now Grimlock is the left leg, Heavyload is the right one, and Hightower has become the arms. Pretty much the same as the Heavyload configuration, except that the rifle can attach to Hightower's turret to function as built-in anti-aircraft weaponry for Landfill.

Overall, Suspsy Sez
This really is a neat idea, combining the Scramble City feature of G1 gestalts with the poseability and play value of BW-era toys. All four Build Teamers are good toys with nice transformations and nifty weapons, particularly Heavyload's mechanical Pac-Man of Doom. And Landfill is a challenge well worth it, a mighty construction gestalt that could probably hold his own against Devastator. Definitely worth checking out.
