Bio & Technical Data
Skittish and suspicious, Ransack is a loudmouth bully, always ready to intimidate others into giving him what he wants, but only when his big partner Crumplezone is around. With the energy of the Speed Planet flowing through his circuitry, everything about him is fast - sometimes too fast. Unable to stop thinking or moving, his hyperactive mind tends to draw connections between unconnected things, and he sees conspiracy everywhere.

Packaging & Paperwork
Ransack comes carded on the smaller, scout class Cybertron packaging and what an overly elaborate package it is. The card has the Speed Planet and Scout Class information in the upper left and the Ages 5+ message on the upper right. The rest of the card is decorated with a white Decepticon insignia bursting from a purple and black background.
The bubble is large and wastes a lot of space. There is enough space in the bubble for at least two Ransack toys. I can understand the need for conforming packaging in an assortment, but this is a little excessive especially considering the Revenge of the Sith line. The Cybertron logo lays across the top and large character art adorns the left side of the bubble. Ransack and his weapon are visible in the center and right of the bubble. His Cyber Planet Key is visible underneath the artwork and his name and Decepticon insignia is to the right of that.
What I think is an improvement over the previous few Transformers lines is that the packaging and instructions are only in English. I'm not saying anything bad about any other language. However, it is refreshing to have packaging that doesn't look cluttered. It also gives way for the return of bios and technical data to the back of the card (see above). In addition to the bio and tech data, pictures of Ransack in both modes as well as his key-activated feature. There's no cross-sell, but there is mention that specially marked Cybertron toys will include a planet map so "you can follow the Autobot quest to save Cybertron!"
Ransack comes with a a clear, red Speed Planet Cyber key with a silver-painted Speed Planet logo on the top. Also included is the back portion of his motorcycle mode that contains his key-activated feature. It's mainly red with clear red gun barrels, a silver panel with green highlights. There's also a purple Decepticon symbol on the right side near the key insertion point.
And speaking of inserting keys, place the Speed Planet key into the opening near the barrel tips. The gun barrels will flip back to form tailpipes for the motorcycle form or his weapon for his robot mode. Opened up, the silver details on top of the barrels become visible as do the black paint on the barrel ends.
Ransack's vehicle mode is a motorcycle. It's mainly red and black with silver and gold highlights. The windshield and "tires" are a clear red, adding to his futuristic, or alien if you prefer, look. Without his accessory attached, the robot fists and feet are visible on the top back half of the vehicle. Attached, hooked to the feet and the small pegs on the sides of the seat, the feet are covered up, but the fists remain visible. It also adds about a half-inch to his height in this mode.
The front of the motorcycle has two clear red barrels sticking out of the center with the headlights on either side. Coupled with his rear weapon, this gives Ransack a good amount of firepower considering his rather light-weight vehicle mode. Kudos to the designers for throwing that in.
Ransack's robot mode is both bulky and scrawny at the same time. He has broad shoulders and thick lower legs thanks to the rear wheel halves hanging from them, but his torso and upper legs are quite thin. It's those features that help make him look fast in this mode though. Ransack's helmet looks familiar somehow, though I can't place what it reminds me of. A portion of the helmet and the area around his eyes are black with his green eyes piecing through. The rest of his face is silver, accenting his red helmet nicely.
He's no slouch in the articulation department either. He rotates at the neck, shoulders, and waist. He also has ball-socket elbows, hips, and knees. Not only that, Ransack can bend at the waist thanks to the nature of his transform. His back heels pivot as well, to help stabilize some poses. He can hold his weapon in either hand and thanks to it's bulk can double as a shield.
Ransack has more variety of color in robot mode, at least it appears that way. His shoulders are silver with gold vents. He has a gold upper torso plate and his lower torso and upper legs are black. Ransack's arms are mostly gloss black with gold armor on the sides and his legs are red with gold and black highlights with the rear red wheel halves on the outer thighs.
Ransack has a good vehicle mode and a unique robot mode. His key feature doesn't get in the way of the toy, though if the parts ore misplaced, his motorcycle mode will look a little lacking. Still, Ransack isn't a bad toy for his size. Get him if you like what you see.
