Minicon Race Team - Cybertron - Tiny-Tins

Greetings, I'm Alessandro, an Italian collector, currently specializing in every possible variant coming out of Armada transformers.

Looking for new minicons I didn't have I found this exclusive team, a redeco of Armada Race Team. These 3 minicons are only available by buying them inside special two-packs thayt include one of the minicons, its exclusive tiny-tin and a complete Cybertron Wave 1 deluxe: each minicon has 2 different deluxes as options, as seen here:

So, one you get all 3 of them and you combine them you get a very nice redeco that seems to be a perfect mixture of its 2 precedent Hasbro incarnations: Armada Race Team and its black, red and white redeco, the road Assault minicon team.

This "cybertron tiny-tin edition" has the first version's decorations, like numbers and stripes for example, but its colors' choice seems to betaken from the second version, though they are not on the same parts: for example in the Road Assault team Downshift is white, Dirtboss is Black and Mirage is white (as primary colors): here Downshift is dark grey, Dirtboss is bright white and mirage is dark grey too.

The appeal you get placing side by side all 3 versions is that this one is really the bastard child of the first 2. It's not direct or mathematically achieved, but that's what you get when you have all of them in front of you. Here you can find a small gallery of the separate minicons:

In my case I got:

Downshift with Thundercracker (I was very sad about Thundercracker, but with GF Starscream and LoC Skywarp I have my 3 Cybertron seekers...and they are in proprortion 1:0.5:0.25 once they stand up all lined up on my shelf :-D ).

Downshift, as always, has a very nice car mode and a catastrofic robot mode. Its Dark grey and red colors are nice, but I like the Road Assault version better...

Dirt Boss with Red Alert: First, I have to tell you that Red Alert is actually different from its GF version, all the colors and transaprent plastic too are of a visible, ligher shade. A great deluxe as always, get it even if you laready have 2 of them :-)

This version of Dirtboss is very nice and I really appreciate getting another tyr on the first version, with solid red instead of that stupid yellow...on par with R.A. version.

Mirage with Hotshot: ok, Mirage always seemed to be like swindle because it's a reamold of starscream's minicon...but here they got even more similar, Swindle is red and black while here we have red and dark grey but it makes me think "Swindle" much more than "Mirage" now. It's a very good deco, maybe the best one of its 3 versions.

The tiny-tin Skyboom shield is not that good actually, because you have Downshift and Mirage n darkgrey and red...and in the moddle part Dirtboss is all bright white. It clashes a lot. More white on Mirage or Downshift would have helped. I like them more separately, I think that the best Skyboom shield is the R.A. version. It looks good when held by Longrack, because its legs are white/light grey and its red shade is the same as this set's. Longrack's yellow, anyway, clashes with the rest :-(

So, recommended for completists, for minicon maniacs or for people that actually just want the deluxes...I got them for 7.25$ each + shipping to Italy, I think it was a very good price. If you don't have that much money to throw around, you'd better be happy with your Road Assault Team, that would be your best choice ;-)

As a final note: their packages have a plastic interior that is not glued to anything, everything is really easy to take out of the box and to put back at its place. Tiny-tins are nice, as you can see in photos, but...who ever cared about tiny-tins??? My final score has been given thinking of paying 22$ for 3 deluxes and a minicon team. If you pay them 10$ each, lower it to 3 stars. If you have to pay them more, 2.5 stars are okay ;-)

If you never had any chance to get a version of this minicon team, grab it and have fun!!!! (but don't get scalpered!!) :-)
