Finally a summer "blockbuster", TRANSFORMERS was the perfect summer movie...it was FUN.
This movie, like other's have stated, harkens back to summer movies such as ID4, Twister, and Armageddon.
Big, loud, and with great SFX.
But like those previously mentioned summer movies, there were plot holes and some cheesy acting, but nothing you couldn't get over.
The editing sucked in a lot of places, you were left thinking "What the hell just happened?" or "What became of that character?".
I'm not that familiar with Shia LeBeouf, but I thought he did a great job, very entertaining actor, and I've been a fan of John Turturro since O' Brother Were Art Though.
But enough about those pesky fleshlings, the reason to see this film is the robots, and they are AWESOME!!!
The FX in this movie will blow you away, all of the different moving parts, and the faces. I was on of the skeptics who was all against the new designs and putting faces (mouths) on the characters, but it worked and it worked well.
There was a lot of emotion that showed through.
Peter Cullen reprising Optimus Prime was an unbelievable highlight to this film for those of us who grew up with the G1 cartoon.
The Autobots were the movies main focus, there was hardly any character development for the Decepticons, save Megatron, and he was one scary dude.
The Decepticons were more or less this movie's Stormtroopers.
There were great lines and great scenes that we'll discuss later after you guys get a chance to see it.
And I recommend that you do see it, shut off your brain, go to be entertained, and you won't be dissappointed.
8 out of 10.
