Incinerator - Movie - Figure

The Allspark Power line of movie based Transformers is in full swing, but this review will cover the last of the original mold figures being released. From here on out, it's all about the repaints. This review covers the only other new Voyager class figure, Incinerator.

Alt Mode

Incinerator takes the shape of a V22 Osprey aircraft. He is mostly gray in appearance, with the Allspark blue tint showing in the nose and over little spots. There is also some burgundy and black showing. The cockpit windows are clear, and on the top of the fuselage one can spy a Decepticon logo. There is also a sonar dish near the tail.

The sonar dish has a gimmick attached. Pull the dish back and both propellers will spin. This is regardless of whether the propellers are positioned on their vertical or horizontal axis. Oh yeah, by the way, the propellers can be positioned for VTOL (Vertical) or cruising (Horizontal) duty. Incinerator also features realistic 3pt landing gear that is retractable. Transformation is simple. Just take care with the legs, as the various pieces like to pop off their pegs. As you swing the cockpit to form his chest, the glass splits to reveal his Automorph feature. Make sure you "clip" the cockpit to the waist to complete the process.

Robot Mode

More of the Allspark blue and burgundy shows up in robot mode. Can't say the colors do much for him. The propellers form his 'hands'. Sadly, the props aren't hinged, so you can't even get a pseudo-claw look. His head sculpt is more traditional looking, unlike most decepticons. His visor has clear light piping. Overall, not a bad look once you get past the garish colors.

Points of articulation are as follows. Feet: Screw hinge, 90 degrees flex. Knees: Pinned, 75 degrees bend, unlimited rotation. Hips: 5pt ratcheting bend, 90 degrees; pseudo-ratcheting spread, 90 degrees. Waist: Stationary. Shoulders: Pin hinge for unlimited rotation; screw hinge for 135 degree wingspan. Arms pinned for unlimited rotation. Elbows: Screw hinge, 135 degree rotation. Head: Ball joint, unlimited rotation and 15 degree tilt. Although there is decent mobility, the tail hits the ground, making leg poses very limited. One saving grace: The rotor spin gimmick still works even in robot mode. Overall, with a little more work this figure could have been great. All it needed was some hinges on the propellers and some colors that weren't so mind numbing.

Sidebar

A new insert has been included in the packaging, which confirms that Transformer: Animated figures still have a street date of June 2008. According to the leaflet, the first wave will feature Voyager class Earth Mode Optimus Prime, Deluxe class Bumblebee, and the 2Pk Optimus Prime vs Megatron Battle Pack. Other figures will also be available, although those figures are not named.

The hands issue is disappointing. I can think of at least three relatively simply ways to get the blades out of the way and get some fists happening there. One of them only needs one new bit of plastic per arm (the fist itself) and some minor remolding of the lower arm and rotor hub. Probably kitbas... read more

Those of you waiting to get the Japanese version, I'd like to ask why? It doesn't look any better and it's still FULL of Allspark blue [url=" (link) Today I received the Japanese version. I'm very glad to have spend the extra money on it. The Allspark blue works out much better ... read more

have you ever thought how can he wipe his own ass ? He can't. He has to ask help from other decepticons. That's why he stinks. I don't oppose kibble (in fact, Stockade looks great IMHO), but what hangs behind Incinerator is a ridgid piece of plastic, that doesn't bend, twist, shape... read more

He reminds me of Edwards Scissor hands.... not likely to have fine motor skills with rotor blades for hands...

Also, whose looking at their backs so much anyway. When I transform these guys I have them in forward looking action poses. I think this one is a great Voyager class toy...better then the $25 TRU Cybertron recolors that just came out. Give this one a shot and keep your receipt...if you don&#... read more

I saw one today at Wal-Mart. Man, what an underwhelming toy. If it weren't for the fact that it has a large wingspan, Incinerator could almost be a deluxe class toy. And, what kind of name is Incinerator? Giant rotor hands don't make me think of incineration, unless of course it's a r... read more

For those with UV lights, if the Allspark Blue is the same on Incinerator as it is on Landmine, THE PAINT GLOWS IN UV!! Is Incinerator one like Landmine with more than 2 eyes? (Landmine has 9 just the lightpiping is pathetic..) EDIT:-Irony, The Osprey is on Future Weapons now!

stockade has kibble? 0.0 he looked fine to me. :danmit I love this mold. I HATE the colors. My transformer painting skills are not all that numerous. Why ruin such an awesome mold with such ugly, ugly, ugly colors? WHY, GOD!? WHYYYYY!!!!?????

Incinerator's kibble obstructs posability. He looks like he could barely bend his knees, because the tail will hit the ground. Same as Blackout. Plus, his arms (not just the hands) are pure failure. And the colors are pretty bad. I like the face, though.
