Ultra Magnus Spychanger - RiD - Figure

I've never cared for the Super-sized Ultra Magnus toy. To me, it's just armour for Optimus Prime that turns into an ugly and unstable robot, and that's just not worth spending $50 on, IMO. But since he is a very prominent character on the show, I figured it'd be nice to at least have this version.

Vehicle Mode
In car carrier mode, Ultra Magnus measures 9 cm(3.5") long. Mostly grey and blue, with black windows, a silver grille, a large yellow Autobot symbol moulded beneath the grille, small red Autobot symbols on his sides, and black wheels with chrome hubcaps. To save on costs, Hasbro gave him only four rolling wheels instead of the ten found on Super-sized Magnus. Unfortunately, the middle set of wheels have been left unpainted, which kinda spoils the illusion of having fake wheels.

Other than that, this is a pretty nice downsized version of Ultra Magnus. It rolls along nicely on both hard floor and carpet and has room on top to transport one Spychanger, although there's nothing to hold it in place up there.

Transformation
Like Rollbar's, only even simpler. Legs extend, cab flips back, arms slide out, wings flip out.

Robot Mode
At 9.5 cm(3.7") tall, Magnus towers over other Spychangers. Still mostly grey and blue, with metallic silver for his face and chest and metallic grey panels on his shins. Again, he's for all intents the spitting image of Super-sized Magnus, right down to his shins accounting for almost two-thirds of his height. A pity he doesn't come with the Blue Bolts. Indeed, his fists lack pegholes, so he can't even borrow another Spychanger's weapon.

Magnus is articulated at the head, shoulders, hips, and wings.

Overall
Susp Sez: For its size, this is quite an impressive representation of Ultra Magnus. It looks accurate both modes, has good articulation for a Spychanger, and can be easily transported in one's pocket. A nice substitute for those who either don't want or can't afford the Super version.

Susp

""I can no longer be jealous when you clearly deserve your glory. Forgive me, brother, and accept my apology." "Thank you Ultra Magnus. I do, yes -- aahh!" "Ha! You're just as gullible as you ever were, Prime."
