Our Activator reviews continue with the bounty hunter Lockdown.
Lockdown is a Decepticon bounty hunter, feared across the galaxy for his ruthless nature. He always get his robot, bringing it in functioning or not. In exchange, he collects loot from every robot he captures. He uses their technology to upgrade his own weapons and powers, and leaves those he hunts weaponless.
Although they tried, Lockdown doesn't have the same resemblance as an Activator as he does in his Deluxe mold. Where Lockdown was lean and tall, the Activator comes off looking more stubby. They really didn't go out of their way to make his paint job asymmetrical either.
The blower engine is molded to the figure, so no hook arm for him. Although decent, so far he is the least true to his larger counterpart of any of the Activators in robot guise.
The joints are set up for good poseability, but the footprint will make it hard to keep steady, as it's not flat but curved.
Like most activators, Lockdown is pretty simple to get into vehicle mode. Raise both arms up and twist the shoulder pads to they are flush to the arms. Fold his feet down. Pulling the engine block down on his back will squeeze everything into place. Pin the 2 arms together, make sure the rear end is secure and secure the front end to finish.
The alt mode does a marginally more accurate take on his Deluxe mold. The cockpit area is more bubbled out, and the side pipes are pushed more tht the front fenders.
There are no taillights on the back end. Instead, you get his chest plate. You can see part of the spring hinge assembly on the doors, but unlike other Activators it is decently concealed.
