News

Robots in Disguise the TV show is over - the toyline isn't to be far behind, either - and it looks like as a closing bow, we're to be treated to some reveals of design and art assets from the development of the series. Artist Walter Gatus has posted quite a bit in his personal portfolio, featuring some early designs, and things going all the way through season 2 and the abbreviated "season 3" featuring Starscream. Fans of the show should find this an enjoyable experience to browse through, as there's lots of interesting stuff to be seen. Check it out mirrored below!

We're at the doorstep of a round of brand new toys, but before we get going on that, we have one more gallery to offer from a little farther back. Earlier this year with the Combiner Force refresh of Robots in Disguise came a new assortment of Warrior Class toys, and among them was Blurr - a crossover character from Rescue Bots! It also happens to be a really solid RID figure, if a tiny bit towards the "simple" side. We have 120 photos showing off both modes, transformation, poseability, and the accessory, and there's a race at the finish! Click through to find the complete gallery below!

Ronald McSanta has a little surprise for Transformers fans at McDonald's next month! We say "little" because there is just one Transformers item in what is a special holiday train set that features an array of popular culture properties including Toy Story, Despicable Me, My Little Pony, Hot Wheels and others. The Transformers toy offering is one from the Robots In Disguise series with Bumblebee sticking his head out a car-carrier type train car. See the image below for the full look.

Tonight we have a brand new gallery for you featuring what seems to be the final Warrior Class mold for the Robots in Disguise line, Twinferno. Distribution for this hasn't been great so far in the US, but it looks like it's starting to gain some traction. Sadly, Twinferno itself feels like a bit of a throwback to early RID toys. In my opinion at least, it lacks the improved feel that the Warrior Class molds have been developing for the last 12-18 months. But it's still got an interesting look in both modes, even if it's not super engaging beyond that. We have over 100 photos of it for you to check out, so click through and head to the gallery now!

The last of three known Team Combiner sets for the Robots in Disguise line has hit brick and mortar retail. Galvatronus, comprised of Cyclonus, Riotgear, Skyjack, Cyberwarp, and Treadshock was spotted at Toys R Us in Fort Wayne, IN by Rookbartley. Robots in Disguise is expected to be ending with the wrap up of the Combiner Force imprint, though there are still a few toys that have yet to reach retail, including two Crash Combiners. Whether any or all of these remaining products ever see distribution in the US is a big question mark right now. Keep reading to see a photo of Galvatronus on shelf!

Amazon has posted a new set of images for the Robots In Disguise: Combiner Force Legion-class Twinferno! This is the second toy of the new character, and it's looking pretty good! We don't have any info on expected availability of this version at the moment, but we do have the product description. Keep reading to see!

The last four episodes of Robots In Disguise: Combiner Force are now titled! Thanks to the website TWCC, we now know the titles - and one description - for the last round of RID. Oddly that one description isn't for the first episode in the list, but the second - but it should hopefully give a look at the direction that the series will be heading in for the home stretch. Keep reading for the details!

Via the McDonald's Happy Meal website, we've got the promo image for the next Happy Meal theme coming to McDonald's locations in the US. Robots in Disguise will be making its third appearance alongside a hamburger and apple chips, featuring character figures of Bumblebee, Optimus, Strongarm, and Grimlock, as well as small masks of each of the characters. As is the typical process, the promotion runs with a My Little Pony option for kids more interested in that than robots. We've copied the Transformers promo image, click through to take a look!

Imagine unleashing the power of multiple Transformers figures at once to create a single awesome Team Combiner super robot figure! Team Combiner multi-figure packs feature Autobot or Decepticon teams from the Transformers: Robots in Disguise animated series.

YouTube channel Ancient Robot has posted a new ad for the Robots In Disguise Team Combiners. Sporting new CG of Ultra Bee combining to do battle with Menasor, the 15-second spot shows off both toys - though sadly, not Galvatronus. Keep reading to see the spot!

Legion Blurr is a fun little figure and makes for a fun desk toy. Transformation is simple but I like how it all comes together. The simple step of flipping the fin parts around impresses me for some reason. Definitely worth a pickup.

Chuckdawg1999 is back at it again. Following off of Ultra Bee yesterday, he's back to show off the second of the team combiner sets in RID Combiner Force: Menasor. As Chuck puts it, Menasor is slightly more traditional with five team members, though there's only three distinct molds within the set. You can get a basic rundown of each toy and the combined form in the video - embedded below, of course - and see whether this set looks like something to bring in to your collection. Click through and have a look!

Today, our forums member chuckdawg1999 stopped in to share another new video with us, giving us one of our first in-hand looks at a team combiner set from RID Combiner Force - Ultra Bee! After some people lost enthusiasm toward the Crash Combiners upon seeing them, it'll be important to get a good look at find out how these team sets came out in execution. With two more after this, and these more or less being the "headliners" of this sub-branding, a lot might be riding on these guys! Click through to see the review.

New on the forums, chuckdawg1999 has shared a video with us for the Activator Class Combiner Force Sideswipe from RID. This joins the already released Bumblebee and Strongarm from this pricepoint and shares the play feature of an enhanced vehicle mode when the partner Mini-Con is attached. We've got the video for you to check out in the full post below, so click through now and get watching!

Chefatron from Youtube has one more video review to share this weekend, featuring the Activators Class Soundwave from RID Combiner Force. The Activators are the Mini-Con-interactive action feature style figures. Soundwave is paired with Laserbeak, and using Laserbeak in vehicle mode deploys (non-firing) missile launchers. Apart from that, you can see the admittedly limited articulation and the transformation, though most of that was revealed a while ago in a video featuring Soundwave's prototype, but it's good to see how the final version worked out. Click through to watch!

Time Warner Cable's online episode guide has been updated with two new episodes of Robots in Disguise. Combiner Force, which is either season 3 or 4, depending who you ask, already has had its first 7 episodes become generally available via on demand and official streaming, and today we've found out about the next two unreleased episodes, which focus one each on Drift, and Strongarm. No airdates are offered, but we have the summaries in the full post below. Keep reading!

Robots in Disguise writer and producer Adam Beechen has posted some valuable info to Twitter! The third season of RID, rebranded as "Combiner Force," is confirmed to be 26 episodes long when counting the 2-part opener that aired this weekend. Beechen also confirms that the block of Starscream-centric episodes Cartoon Network labeled as "Season 3" was considered to be a part of Season 2 on the production side. Keep reading for confirmation!

Cartoon Network have made the first 7 episodes of Robots on Disguise Combiner Force available online starting now through June 6th. The Season kicks off with the two part King of the Hill episode. These are FULL episodes that may or may not be available in other countries. Hasbro recently said they would be doing more online streaming of their shows, and here we are. Read on for more details.

Via multiple reports, it seems Hasbro is sending out advisories to fans subscribed to one mailing list or another that the new season of Robots in Disguise will be starting on April the 29th on Cartoon Network in the US. Included is a promo graphic with an unfortunate naming error showing Menasor and Ultrabee. However, right now advance TV listings do not seem to agree with the contents of the e-mail, instead showing the 6 episode run previously called "season 3" starting over in that day's slot. At the moment, it looks like we'll have to wait and see what the DVRs have to report two Saturdays from now!
