SDCC 2018 - Transformers Generations War For Cybertron Trilogy Reveal Teased With Possible First Subline Title

A new Instagram story posted today on the official Transformers account features John Warden promoting the Hasbro presence at San Diego Comic Con in just under two weeks, promising lots of Transformers content. The panel info already told us much of what to expect, including the first look at the War For Cybertron lineup hinted during Toy Fair this year. The brand panel description uses the phrasing "War For Cybertron trilogy" meaning that Hasbro is going in this with a plan for three connected iterations of Generations product, like what Combiner Wars, Titans Return, and Power of The Primes ultimately formed. Since that means War For Cybertron is not the name of a specific line anymore, there must be another sub-branding involved.

On the corner of the poster we can see are some easily interpreted elements. The end of the word "Cybertron" for instance. Beneath that in smaller font are the letters GY, which reasonably would be the end of the word "trilogy". That leaves "GE" above those lines, which should be the actual name of this first installment of the new toy trilogy. "SIEGE" seems to be a probable guess as to the mystery word, especially if we expect that they're keeping close to the war theme of the trilogy name, where this would then be a reference to siege warfare.

It's also something that may have been sneakily alluded to already, with the Siege on Cybertron Titans Return box set. Whether or not that was an intended forward-looking reference (keeping in mind next year's line would have been starting development well over a year ago at this point), we at least know someone at Hasbro liked the word enough to make it the title of a theme boxset, and so might have looked for a chance to bring it out again.

The font spacing and presumed positioning of the three lines also makes it look like the word would be a good fit to lead to the visible portion that we've been presented with. All that said, I'd be amused to have this prediction completely upturned by the actual reveal, planned for the Transformers brand panel at 11am Pacific Time on July 19th.
