Surprise! Or it would
have been if not for the tireless efforts of eternal Weibo leaker tf-factory,
who has posted Power of the Primes
package backs today. Included are Voyagers Elita-1, Inferno, and Hun-Gurr as well as Deluxe Moonracer. Also, a Deluxe Blast Off who is marked off presumably to permit more leaks later - which is just stupid, because what else would it be
but a US release of the Unite Warriors mold? Keep reading to see the images, which are potentially frustrating on a variety of levels.
You may remember Flame Toys, who came on the scene last year with their first officially licensed Transformers figure, a non-converting high detail figure of Drift. Their second project turned out to be Decepticon Justice Division commander Tarn, and tonight we have a new image of a prototype for that figure, along with a hint that there may be more of it to be seen at Toy Soul 2017 this weekend in Hong Kong. It's possible that at least a hand-painted color sample of Tarn may be shown off, but odds are good either way some form of prototype will be a centerpiece of their exhibit. Keep reading to see the full size teaser image!
The website Time & Space
put up a gallery of images of an interesting new promotion for the AU x Transformers Infobar Optimus Prime figure: a cardboard sculpture of the toy! The intricately designed and assembled sculpture is the work of artist Monami Ohno
, whose work in the medium of cardboard is very impressive indeed- even the logos and numbers on the phone parts are carefully-cut cardboard. Keep reading to see the image!
Through a Facebook video, we finally have a look at the retail version of POTP Rodimus Prime, the second toy in the first Leader assortment. Sadly the video itself is probably not worth watching, being both shot in vertical/portrait orientation and being quite low-res. You can find stills taken from the video highlighting key points for a quick look at the toy. We do have the video embedded just below as well, if you're dying to see the toy in action or get an early look at how some of the transformation works. Click through to check it all out!
So, you may have seen the stock images of Power of the Primes Moonracer
we posted last night. Thanks to Weibo user sometimes identified as "tf-factory"
we have images of the other four Deluxes in Wave 2! Besides Moonracer, Wave 2 will let you complete your Dinobot team (and combiner Volcanicus), 2-bot jet Dreadwing with the addition of Blackwing, and start on your Terrorcon collection with Rippersnapper! Keep reading to see.
Following on from the store inventory data reveal this morning, we're now able to bring you high-res retailer stock images of Power of The Primes Deluxe Moonracer. Coming to us from wave 2 of the Deluxes, Moonracer is the first use of the mold also expected to represent Firestar (under the name Novastar) as the sole new entry in Deluxe wave 4 much later in 2018. We can see the typical set of package, robot and vehicle here, though with the robot mode equipped with the combiner hand Prime Armor not all the details are visible to us. But these full size images are a great start to our look at this toy. Keep reading to see them all!
Kevin Liu has posted a new video showing off the second half of Voyager wave 1 from Power of The Primes, giving us our best look yet at Grimlock. From what we can see in the Chinese-language video, Grimlock seems to make a better showing than Starscream in general. At least until you hit the combiner mode. But like Slug and Swoop, this Grimlock may serve better just on its own merits and putting combination aside. You can find the video below, as well as a gallery of screencaps so you can check out the details at your own pace. Click through to see it all!
From the Facebooks of HK-TF
members Waishing Leung, ChaRles Ng, Ting Yan Kwok,
and Fido Li
, we've got images of most if not all of Power of the Primes
! Among the highlights are new looks at Optimus and Rodimus Prime as well as Grimlock confronting a horde of Titans Return
Legends-class Gnaws. And also, Optimus Prime embraces his movie self (and the Prime Master/Titan Master/Matrix/Enigma cross-compatibility) and carries the Matrix of Faces. Keep reading to see the images, mirrored here for your convenience!
An unsourced anonymous image board post has provided something a bit interesting to look at: Power of The Primes Rodimus Prime broken down to its individual units showing a new perspective of how the full Leader Class toy comes together. As shown we can see the Hot Rod robot, plus the transformed state of the trailer that forms most of the Rodimus body, along with the Rodimus arms, which detach between forms. Of note which may not have been clear before, the Matrix chamber is located within the Rodimus Prime specific body portions rather than as part of Hot Rod directly. Keep reading to see the photo.
Artist Marcelo Matere has shared several piece of packaging art on his Facebook page for some bigger ticket items from the last couple of years. First up is the box art from Titan Class Trypticon showing the battle scene in uncolored lineart form. We also have illustrations from the Platinum Edition Unicron release, Year of The Goat Soundwave, and Combiner Wars Bruticus, giving us a wide range of subject matter! All of the images can be seen on Marcelo Matere's Facebook page, linked below, as well as mirrored in our gallery. Click through to take a look!
Following the Wave 1 deluxe figures, Transformers Power of the Primes legends class figures are hitting in SOCAL. Get a look at this images of of the Power of the Prime Legends Windcharger with comparison to Reveal the Shield Scout Windcharger and death scene from Movie.
As Power of the Primes
begins to hit US stores, regular Weibo leaker 淘宝店变形金刚改造工厂 supplies us (by way of Autobase Aichi) with a vision of the future: combination diagrams ranging from Waves 1-3! While there's not a lot of new information here - Starscream's combiner name is still not given, for example - there is an image showing how Blackwing's half of two-part combiner Dreadwing is formed. Keep reading to see!
Kevin Liu's Youtube channel has broken a first direct look at the torso mode for Power of The Primes Starscream, shown in a video review of Deluxe Dreadwind. Leaks recently had shown us lineart, giving a general idea of the shape of the torso configuration, but Hasbro's unwavering secrecy regarding the combiner potential of the entire line left us wanting for images of the actual toy in its combiner configuration. We have a few screencaps of that, plus the jet mode (criminy those stickers), plus you can check out the review (in Chinese) as well.
It's been fairly certain that Titans Return Grotusque
, the complete surprise exclusive revealed during NYCC which quickly sold through at Hasbro Toy Shop, would follow Arcee's path and appear later at Toys R Us. And that has partially come true. Thomas Tam has posted on Facebook an in-store sighting at a Toys R Us in Hong Kong where Grotusque is being sold - seemingly with an open-box copy being used to demonstrate what you're buying in the effectively unmarked black boxes. Hopefully the North American branch will be following suit with website sales soon! Keep reading to check out the photos.
Via Kevin Liu on Youtube, a couple videos have gone up featuring the Power of The Primes Wave 1 Deluxe Dinobots. Slug (Slag) and Swoop are featured in typical style, but the real bonus to be had is a look at Grimlock (who doesn't have his own video yet) in robot and dino modes, and as the torso of Volcanicus while the limb modes of the Deluxes are being demonstrated. You can find the videos (in Chinese) embedded below, or jump down to our gallery for HD screencaps of the good parts.
