TFSource have listed the X2 Toys Sky Crusher figure for pre-order. We finally get a look at this highly anticipated piece with the first color photos of this impressive figure. The unofficial redux of G1 Jetfire has loads of articulation and even a Gerwalk mode. The figure is scheduled to ship next month, November 2017. Read on to see the images and more info on ordering.
From diecast on RFC Reviews we have what we're pretty sure is the first video review for Meteor - original recipe style, that is, G1 cartoon inspired rather than Galaxy
Meteor. Meteor goes for as much of a cartoon-inspired look for Starscream as is practical on a figure that can still transform, and that efforts looks quite successful with mainly smooth surfaces, bright colors, and slightly rounded edges that clearly set it apart from where the official MP Starscream was aimed. The video review is a little over half an hour. Check it out embedded below for your first in hand look at this brand new release!
TFCon USA's Third Party Panel just finished earlier this afternoon. We can't show you any of the slides that were displayed since the TFCon organizers do not release them to the majority of sites that might be interested in carrying them afterward, but we can sum up the presentation pretty quickly: Lots of things that have already been shown off, and more of the same things everyone is doing or has done already. Few new reveals, and most were only shown as concept art or renders. At least one report from the event noted booing from the audience at the end of the presentation. It seems not to have been a good day for unlicensed products. Keep reading to find out more...
Twitter user and noted toy photographer @FakeEyes22
is at TFCon, and he's getting photos of the new Third Party products on display! There's a couple of MP-style Springer-style figures, yes... But also FansHobby Monsterbots, DNA Designs' Susanoo (the Revenge of the Fallen
-style Bludgeon), and an intriguing Titans Return
Overlord upgrade kit that seems to replace 2/3rds of the figure in pursuit of matching Legends
Series God Ginrai for height and mass. We've mirrored his photos here for your convenience - keep reading to see them all!
Fans or the Takara God Ginrai set will be interested to hear about the Maketoys Manus + Divine Suit Boxset. This is is the latest figure in the Maketoys Cross Dimension Series. The third party realization of this set has gotten the super deluxe treatment with extra articulation, detailing, weapons and accessories that bring this classic set into the modern day. Read on for images and more details.
Alien Attack Toys has some color photos on Weibo for Firage. This figure represents the character from Dark of The Moon alternately identified as "Dino" and "Mirage" who to date has not had a transforming toy outside of the Cyberverse sizes. The figure is said to be about 15cm (6 inches) tall in robot mode. The photos show a nicely finished and highly poseable robot, as well as a clean car mode - at least from the angles we're shown. We've got the new photos in the gallery below, click through to have a look! You can pre-order this now at BigBadToyStore.com
Similar to the exclusive redeco for TFCon Toronto over the summer, TFCon USA this weekend will be offering a new deco for the Ocular Max PS-06 Terraegis mold. "Offroad" is a white deco of the unofficial Trailbreaker body, with some mud splatter paint spray that, at least on the promo sample, looks very well done. As revealed on the TFCon website, this exclusive will be available from the Ages Three And Up booth at the show. Keep reading for photos and more info!
On their Twitter, MakeToys has shown off color images for Thunder Manus, the Optimus Prime deco of the mold first released as Thunder Erebus - their analogue to Nemesis Prime. The new images not only show Thunder Manus in color finally, but also reveal the "Divine Suit", a God Ginrai style armor system that functions as a support vehicle - though seems to lack a robot mode of its own. They mark an expected release in December, but no other information is given currently. We've mirrored the pictures, check them out below!
In more unofficial Combaticon news, Iron Factory has shared photos on their Weibo account showing the contents of the War Giant Attackers two pack, which consists of their Legends-sized representations of Swindle and Brawl. Perhaps most notable about them is the heights of their robot modes vary considerably, where most interpretations keep them similar. Plus, via alucardlee, we have some full color shots of the complete War Giant that reveal a very articulate and oddly expressive combined form. You can find the full range of photos below!
On Weibo, we have some unofficial Combaticon updates via alucardlee. First up is images of a color testshot of the Onslaught to Unique Toys' larger scale Combaticon lineup. It seems to currently be without a revealed trade name, but despite that we get to have a good look at robot and vehicle modes, as well as how it stacks up next to the set's Swindle and Brawl-analogues. A partial build of Bruticus is done as well to demonstrate the proportions at this stage of development. We've mirrored the photos for your convenience, click through to have a look!
MakeToys has announced via Twitter that after negotiations with retailers, their Galaxy Meteor figure will be released after all! The way they made it work: a price reduction to $99.99, which just makes it even better. MakeToys thanked all its fans for their support and love - and we certainly hope to see sales for Galaxy Meteor reflect the passion that people had for getting it made. Fingers crossed, but in the meantime, keep reading for more info!
It was a while ago that we saw a CG render teaser for a redeco of one of Fans Hobby's unofficial MP-style Monsterbots done up to resemble Beast Wars Megatron. That plan has come to fruition finally with the announcement of MB-03A The Red Dragon, retooled and featuring accessories all drawing inspiration straight from the Botcon 2016 TM3 Megatron exclusive. The Red Dragon is going to be an exclusive at the Shanghai 9th SGC, limited to 300 units which is bound to make this an extra challenge to obtain. We have several photos from Fans Hobby's Twitter and from Aludardlee, keep reading to see them!
One more quick review from diecast on RFC Reviews tonight! FansToys recently brought out a replacement head option for their unofficial Masterpiece-style Grimlock, Grinder. This new head is modeled more closely after the look of the dinosaur mode in the G1 cartoon, giving an easy modification option for owners more inclined to that appearance. How easy? Well, diecast manages it in the space of about six minutes, and still has time for several off-color jokes in the process! Wow! Check out the video in the post below.
We have some new full color photos for an upcoming Dr Wu accessory kit. DW-M08 Judgement is a new set of sword and shield for Premier Edition Voyager Class Optimus. The new parts are made larger and more detailed, and in the case of the shield has moving parts. Both pieces are more fully decorated as well. The Weibo post showing these off doesn't give any relevant release details, but based on previous Dr Wu parts sets, this can be expected to be fairly reasonable for what it offers. Check out the full lineup of images, mirrored below.
Thanks to a video by YouTuber maxlovesamber
, we can say that the answer is yes!
PC-16 Jinrai Prime can be combined with all three versions of the Titans Return
Leader Powermaster Optimus Prime/Legends Series LG35 Super Ginrai/Siege on Cybertron Leader Magnus Prime without the Powermaster and new head added by the Perfect Effect PC-15 set! It's not perfect, and requires some partsforming as Max demonstrates, but at least you can do it. Keep reading to see!
