Last year's short but memorable Transformers: Devastation
featured a boss battle with Shockwave where the one-handed logician displayed a fascinating, very video-gamey power: the ability to create duplicates of himself. Naturally you'd think this was an invention by Platinum Games... but it's not! The Transformers Wiki has posted to Twitter a picture of Shockwave's description from the original 1984 series bible, with some very familiar but new information. Keep reading to see!

A popular Transformers Video Game has been a long time coming, so long that many felt it was not possible. Even Kenji Saito, the director on the Transformers: Devastation game from Activision that was released Fall 2015. Depending on who you ask, the game has hits and misses as far as game play and design go. But few can deny, this has been the most fulfilling Transformers game experience so far. Part of that credit goes to Saito, who shares some of the challenges and how he approached Transformers: Devastation design in recent interview with Gamespot.

Kilby is playing on PC and takes a while to stop being devastated, while diecast is on PS4 with a solid ~45 minute session to watch. Machinima has posted a pair of videos today for Transformers Devastation, just hours away from retail availability. Both videos focus on Optimus Prime, and the voice clips do a good job showing the Peter Cullen still has the more fun, energetic cartoon Optimus Prime inside him. One video highlights battle between Optimus and Megatron, while the second is a more general overview of Optimus through the game. We have both of them embedded, plus plenty of screencaps, so click through to check it out!
With little time remaining before the game is released across the various platforms, the Transformers Game Facebook is cranking out the promo materials. Most recently we've gotten some concept art for the Decepticon generic ground troops, collectively the Battlechargers - one type based on the Generations Wheeljack body (like the Collectors Club exclusives) and another being a simplified version of Blitzwing. We also have nice art of Shockwave in robot and gun modes. Click through and check it all out!
Yesterday's spotlight on Grimlock wasn't the end of coverage for the Dinobot commander, today the Transformers Game Facebook page has their own regular gameplay demo video posted, showing some stages and attacks not present in the "cinematic trailer" yesterday. We have screenshots and an embed for that, plus a collection of several lineart pieces for Soundwave, the cassettes, and Megatron's tank mode. Keep reading to see it all!
With less than a week before the game is released, the Transformers Game Facebook is still hyping it up with teaser content. They've just posted the bio for Grimlock going over the basic personality and moves available in game. And along with that, Gamestop's Youtube channel has posted a "cinematic trailer" spotlighting Grimlock, with lots of samples of Gregg Berger's voicework for the character. As usual you can click through for the video embed and screencaps, plus the bio sheet!
As expected, Transformers Game on Facebook has posted a video showing off the moves you can expect to face down in the Soundwave boss battle. Among Soundwave's array of attacks is calling upon Ravage and Laserbeak to help out, though Ravage doesn't show very prominently in this video. The video also highlights rather well the incomplete voice filtering, as despite being vocoded, Soundwave comes across rather soft and smooth. Not exactly fitting to what the cartoon taught us to expect. We of course have a number of screencaps, plus the embedded video, so keep reading!
Today the Transformers Game Facebook page has posted a quick profile for Soundwave, highlighting the character's classic abilities and the kinds of moves he'll perform in the game. As usual, this should also mean a video showing off Soundwave in action very soon also. Plus we have a small extra in the form of lineart for the Seeker body used in the game, in this case seemingly based on Ramjet. Keep reading to check out both!
