TAG Hobby has posted images of the Action Toys display at the C3 hobby show in China, and surprisingly there's a large display of what appear to be high-end, licensed Masterpiece-style Machine Robo figures! There are even a few recognizable faces such as the toys that became Leader-1 and Cy-Kill, which is interesting since most of the US-released GoBots weren't major players in the anime Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos.

Hasbro has filed with the US Patent Office for a pair of very broad trademarks on the name "Go-Bots," applying to both Entertainment and Consumer Products. Pretty much everything is on the table from TV shows and movies to games and of course, toys. It's unlikely that we're going to see everything that the trademarks cover - a GoBots tabletop RPG? I don't think so - but if Hasbro were to want to create anything new for Go-Bots or even just reissue Challenge of the GoBots
on DVD, this would be the first step. Keep reading for a link to the filings and a list of what exactly is covered!
Technically Transformers news, since Hasbro bought GoBots and made them a part of the Transformers universe. The good Guardian GoBots battle the evil Renegade Gobots across time in space in 30 episodes of packed with meta-morphin magic and action. Preorder for a mere $29.95 from WB Shop today for shipment on 05/06/2014.
Today GoBots have been absorbed into Transformers as minor background characters, club exclusive characters and the occasional odd homage. Check out this tidbit of GoBots (and by extension Transformers) history... One of the things that set Transformers apart from GoBots back in 1984 was the wonderful biographies and tech specs included on Transformers toys. While the GoBots toys mostly lacked any type of biography, it was uncovered that Tonka did try to created personalities for the GoBots before the Challenge of the GoBots TV series aired.
Warner Bros Archive has announced that they will be releasing a remastered version of the Challenge of the Gobots five-part mini-series on May 17, 2011. Posting a link on their Facebook page, the DVD is now available for pre-order on the WBShop.com
for $14.95. The product page also includes a comparison between the Original Master and the Remastered look, including some box art. Check them both out in the gallery.
We bet you have not seen that series logo in a while and neither have we! In a recent exchange on Twitter between Warner Archive and an individual named Nick Simmons, the former revealed that they will release the Hanna-Barbera-produced Challenge of the Gobots
series to DVD. An image of the box art is available after the jump.
