Reveal the Shield
More Reveal the Shield

Well this is quite surprising! After Hasbro explained at BotCon 2011 that the last wave of Transformers Reveal the Shield was lost in the shuffle due to the transition to Transformers Dark of the Moon toys, they promised to try and work to get more of the hard-to-get figures out. Now, figures like Scout Windcharger (which was sold out like hot cakes at BotCon) and Voyagers Solar Storm Grappel and Lugnut, are showing up at quite a discount at Southern California-based store chain Ross for $4.99 and $9.99, respectively. These prices are about half off the suggested retail price. Take a look at the proof after the jump.

Before I start. I gotta say that over the years, I have not been one of those to jump all over Hasbro for every little thing gone wrong in collecting world. While people have bashed them from everything from designs to distribution. I've always given them the benefit of the doubt. However, that patience has faltered. Mostly, it is the promise of figures to be released that we never end up seeing. Join the Discussion Now!

Brian is distracted by the Reveal the Shields Legends this week but manages to share the latest news, thoughts on Transformers Rising Storm #2, characters RUINED FOREVER and more!

Did you have your hopes up of collecting your very own Animated Perceptor figure? Hasbro is ready to make it up to you since they canceled it and all. How about a shiny new Reveal the Shield figure instead? G1 robot goodness with a dash of Animated alt mode thrown in to make both parties happy. Click on the link to check out the review!

Everyone's favorite TV talking, axe wielding, ear-to-ear grinning Junkion is back in the saddle... literally. Wreck Gar has returned to his G1 roots thanks to the current Reveal The Shield line. See how he stacks up in this review.

What better way to start a review wave of Reveal the Shield wave 2 figures than with the top dog himself, Optimus Prime? This Deluxe class version has often been compared to the G1 Laser Prime, and it certainly looks the part. Will Prime follow the latest trend of Deluxe offerings, which have offered some surprisingly good molds? Check this review for the answer!

Yes! Yes! YES!!! Okay so he's a bit short, the head's a funny shape and mine has a rattly leg but he's still really cool! Watch the 2 minute review after the jump.

I just made a run to Toys'R'Us and found out they have their Deluxe Class Transformers on sale for $7.99. They also had their Voyager Class figures marked down to $10. I grabbed Generations Blurr, RTS Jazz, and RTS Tracks. I was tempted to pick up an extra Bludgeon too but passed. I hope everyone has a chance to get in on this.

There have been spottings of the 2nd wave Reveal The Shield figures all over the West Coast at Target stores. If you haven't had much luck finding these figures on the shelf, we've managed to update the database with fresh images, both in and out of box, to show you what's in store. You can view the images for Optimus Prime, Wreck-Gar and Perceptor by clicking the respective links.

If you ever wondered about the evolution of Optimus Prime and you wanted it in pictures by somebody else, you are in luck. FatGuy has taken shots of the brand new Transformers Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime next to previous Prime molds, including the Laser Rod Optimus Prime (repainted as Robots In Disguise Scourge), War for Cybertron, and Revenge of the Fallen. Some shots are in the gallery while the rest are at FatGuys's blog.

The trend of alternate heads for a mold being revealed in a figure's instructions continues with Transformers Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime. The instruction sheet for the figure shows off a head mold that looks similar but what may be new optics and a new chin. Take a look at the new head mold and come up with your own deductions in the forums!

The instruction sheet for Transformers Reveal the Shield deluxe class Wreck-Gar has revealed the third alternate head that has been made for the mold, similar to how we learned of the alternate heads for Lugnut, Thunderwing, and Terradive. The head mold sports a visor and a mouth. This is the third alternate head, the second being the eHobby exclusive Scrapheap, which has a mouthplate.

Thanks to HK-TF member Mike, we have new looks at Transformers: Reveal the Shield deluxe Perceptor in and out of package. The image showing off the rear of the blister package is so great, that we also get a good look at the character's bio. Take a look at the bio after the jump.

A Yahoo! Japan auction from rikistoy has given us our first looks at Transformers Reveal the Shield scout Demolition Rumble and Downshift. The images show off the front and back of the blister packages, Rumble and Downshift. We just learned about Rumble last month while Downshift is a redecorated Hunt for the Deceptions Hubcap with a rub sign to boot. Take a look at the shots in the gallery.
