You can't tell me that Transformers The Last Knight
wouldn't have been more entertaining if the movie's conflict was resolved by a rap battle between ...well, anyone really. But for purposes of argument I'm gonna go with Nitro Zeus and Cogman. Unfortunately that didn't happen. But to promote the Leader Class Megatron and Calibur Optimus Prime, TakaraTomy did engage the services of two Japanese rappers to extol the virtues of the two toys in a rap battle. It's all in Japanese, naturally, but it's more than hilarious enough to be worth a look. You'll find the video embedded in the full post just below!
Last week we opened a giveaway on our Youtube channel, offering you the opportunity to win one of three copies of Transformers The Last Knight
provided by our friends at Paramount. We had a great response to that, and today we're announcing our three winners. Click through to the full post to watch the video and find out if you're one of the lucky winners!
NYCC is happening now! Yes, already: barely a month after HasCon and the week after TFCon, we've got another major convention happening. Twitch TV is streaming presentations from the event, and Hasbro's Transformers presentation is scheduled for between 11:15 and 11:45 this morning, so hopefully we'll see some of it! Keep reading to see, and we'll update with info as it happens! PS: Note that some of the ads and other content on the stream are likely NSFW
A couple years ago,
we reported on something then known as "The Transformers Experience" that was being promised by Victory Hill Exhibitions. That project seems to now be taking shape as Transformers: Autobots Alliance,
and we've found clips of the voice cast, the making of the score with composer Ram Khatabakhsh, and even a look at the CGI model of Primus that will figure into the event. Keep reading for more!
Did you know there are, in all, 14 different versions of Transformers: The Last Knight
out now for purchase on physical media? Do you know what each of them has to offer? Well, now you can find out! Paramount sent us over a full set of the various releases, and we've put together a quick unboxing giving a basic guide to the features you can find in each general retail and store exclusive version! And not only that, but together with Paramount, we're bringing you a chance to win a copy of the movie. Check out the video below for all the details!
We're excited to launch a new feature this week, called "Why, Transformers?" - or "WhyTF?" for catchier branding purposes. This new video series features Eric Crownover (aka EricCrowbar) joining Chris (aka ExVee) to discuss a question each week around a topic of interest. For the first episode, Chris and Eric talk about why we believe there were once going to be as many as four Titans Return box sets, and why we ultimately only got two - even though those two that came out look to have performed significantly better than the Combiner Wars sets. Click through to watch the episode right now!
The official Hasbro YouTube channel has posted a new Transformers Designer Desk video for Transformers: The Last Knight
Premier Edition Leader Class Megatron! John Warden demonstrates the figure's full range of articulation, as well as showing off the cool sword and the battle mask gimmick. It's a fun-looking toy! Keep reading to see the video, and some outtakes from Warden at the end.
On the Youtube channel "Comic Book Movie" we can see a quick clip showing some behind the scenes work from Transformers The Last Knight
as one of the movie's Merlin scenes is being filmed, intercut with comments from the screenwriter about casting Stanley Tucci for the role. And sure enough we are shown the crew - Michael Bay included - having trouble containing themselves at the somewhat unconventional take on King Arthur's Wizard. You can find the clip embedded below.
One more video from our Hascon VIP Dinner Event reporter, Eric Crownover. He captured the special presentation videos shown before the Hall of Fame inductions of Susan Blu and movie series producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. One was a minutes-long collection of congratulations and well wishes from celebrities and notable individuals in the world of movies, the other was 30 seconds of Arcee clips. We'll let you sort out which presentation went with which person, and then you can click through to watch the video embedded below!
Eric Crownover covered the VIP Dinner Event at Hascon this past weekend for us, and along with the panel reports and toy reveal images, he also brought us some quick video clips from presentations during the event. First up we have a tribute to the tenth anniversary of the Transformers movie series, acting as a quick retrospective of the movies - which also probably served as a decent warm-up for the Hall of Fame induction of movie producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura! You can find the video embedded in the post below.
Thanks to RFC's diecast, we've got a quick video on his RFC Reviews channel showing the Power of The Primes toys on display during Hascon. One detail visible in this video that seems to have largely been overlooked is an Enigma of Combination
shown at Grimlock's feet. Like the various forms of Matrix included with Leader toys, the Engimas are the special accessory component for the Voyager figures that within the function are what permit them to combine with the Deluxes. You can find the video embedded below, and a screenshot showing the Enigma. Keep reading!
Thanks to Unicron.com, any of us that didn't make the trip to Hascon this weekend can now check out the Prime Wars Trilogy panel in video form on Facebook. This panels covers aspects of design in the toys, toy packaging, the current mobile games, and Machinima's efforts in bringing entries of this trilogy to animation, and that includes a look at the Titans Return series they'll be debuting in November. You can find the panel video embedded below!
Thanks again to Unicron.com for sharing more video from Hascon 2017. The Making of The Last Knight and other Transformers films. Hascon Panel w/ Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, film producers Lorenzo DiBoniventura, Actress Isabella Moner and Mark Wahlberg who makes an appearance later in the panel.
Thanks to Unicron.com we have a look at the HasCon Peter Cullen and Frank Welker panel from the convention. Check out what makes these two guys some of the greatest cartoon voices we know from Transformers and so many other properties.

, we can say that the answer is yes!
PC-16 Jinrai Prime can be combined with all three versions of the Titans Return
Leader Powermaster Optimus Prime/Legends Series LG35 Super Ginrai/Siege on Cybertron Leader Magnus Prime without the Powermaster and new head added by the Perfect Effect PC-15 set! It's not perfect, and requires some partsforming as Max demonstrates, but at least you can do it. Keep reading to see!
