The news around the US division of Toys R Us only continues to worsen. After word hit about a second series of store closings in addition to a list already encompassing hundreds of locations, Bloomberg is this afternoon reporting that Toys R Us is now planning a liquidation of its operations, which would likely mean the final end of the toy retailer in this country after attempts to achieve restructuring of their debts - or find an interested buyer - have proven unsuccessful. This might be one reason Studio Series Thundercracker - not due until late April - is starting to be found on store shelves. Keep reading for a link back to Bloomberg's article.

Ever since first hearing of it in a product info dump from a retailer computer system, the Energon Igniters line coming up as part of the general toy tie in offerings for Bumblebee: The Movie has been a big question mark - and even Toy Fair came and went without further details being revealed. Via the unexpected source of Amazon India, we have some product copy that sheds a little light on the matter. Keep reading to find out more.

BBC News reports that the UK branch of ToysRUs has entered administration due to an inability to find a buyer. While it's currently unknown if the stores will remain open or not, it seems only a matter of time as holders of TRU-UK gift cards and vouchers are being advised to spend them while they can. But if you want to, you'll have to do so in-store as the online retail aspect of TRU-UK has been closed To be clear, this is only for the United Kingdom, not the US or any other territory. Keep reading for details.

A quick period of social media hashtag voting has come and gone, and now that the responses have been counted up, John Warden has appeared in a short video on the Transformers Facebook page to announce the winning pair of figures, though the result is hardly surprising if you kept an eye on the voting activity at all while it was going on. Keep reading to find out the winner!

A little over a week ago, Deadline ran a story concerning Ian Bryce and his move to begin working with Netflix. if you don't immediately recognize the name, Ian Bryce worked as one of the producers on the live action film series. The article is written from the point of view of Netflix's gain in signing Bryce on to create content for them, but with Paramount not having the best run of late with its movies, Bryce's departure may be yet another sign of some internal changes. Transformers is mentioned only in passing among Bryce's large body of work, but one could presume will probably have an impact on whatever shape the future of the movie franchise might take after Bumblebee: The Movie.

As of writing, the brief voting period in the 2018 Transformers fan vote event is nearly over with. While we await the results of the choice of one of three Deluxe VS sets to be released next year (from which Impactor vs Mirage appeared to be taking a lead at one point), Hasbro has released via Facebook a post clearing up some small details, such as the incorrect identification of Impactor as a Decepticon in the sample art. For the most part it doesn't offer much, but one of the answers actually does give us something to work from. Keep reading to find out what!

In piece of good news, the TFWiki has clarified that the Legion-esque Cyberverse Scout-class figures do in fact have full alt-modes! As the promotional images only showed them in their Gerwalk-reminiscent "Action Attacker" configurations, it had been speculated that they would not fully transform. Luckily, that's not the case. Following their line of highly detailed Transformers movie toys. Jada Metals have revealed at Toy Fair 2018 they have obtained the licsense to to Transformers Generation 1 toys as well. Read on for details on a new Optimus Prime Truck and their new micro series.

Hasbro's people said during Toy Fair they have exclusives planned for Generations for this year, though they didn't reveal any specifics. Blast Off and Repugnus had both been discovered via leaked materials and distributor information, but it looks like at least one more figure may be joining their Special Edition ranks this year. Amazon.ca has a listing page for Deluxe Counterpunch, and while the currently attached price and some of the product info are a bit wacky, the associated product code makes sense compared to Repugnus and Blast Off. So what could we be looking at? Keep reading for another round of speculation!

Last night we found out about the new anime colors variant of Masterpiece Prowl, MP-17+, which would release as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive. But surprisingly today, it looks like that will also be available for purchase in the US. US retailers, such as sponsor BigBadToyStore now have preorder listings for MP-17+, marked as a Hasbro product, and due in September. The timing - and similar pricing - sure makes this sound like an effort at a simultaneous (or as near as we can get) Masterpiece release by both Hasbro and TakaraTomy, which could have some interesting potential if it becomes a regular occurrence! Click through for a product link.

The biggest surprise to this is that it was announced before Bumblebee: The Movie was even released. Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner announced today that the Transformers Cinematic Universe is cancelled. The universe - which Paramount had so much faith in that they took four to five of the prospective scripts and put them in a blender to make Transformers: The Last Knight - will be replaced by what is described as a 'reset' of the Transformers franchise to happen no earlier than 2021 going by the film schedule offered to investors. The now-confirmed Titan is marked $195 AUD (about on par with the standard USD $150 for Titans by today's exchange rate) and is scheduled for August or September, with the Deluxes scheduled for May or June. Keep reading for more details!

Ubiquitous, world-devouring megabusiness Amazon.com has posted a new listing for Power of the Primes Special Edition Blast Off! The information in the listing corroborates the leaks and distributor listings that pegged Blast Off as a special edition with a bonus Prime Master. Keep reading for more info!

The fans over at Transformers Peru have posted images of shipping lists of items coming soon to the country! Most of it isn't too surprising - the 7" Authentics were confirmed as the "Alpha" assortment - but it does provide confirmation of the contents of Studio Series Deluxe Wave 1! Keep reading for more info.
