Paramount is running a tournament bracket right now to let fans decide who the top Bot (or Con) is among the movie series cast. A special website is running right now allowing visitors to vote on contestants from both factions, the ultimate winner from each will go head to head. Sadly as of time of writing, Cogman has already lost out of the running, rendering the Autobot side largely meaningless. But - there's still a chance to help Nitro Zeus advance past the first round! Find the link to the site just below in the full post.
HasCon has been and gone for the year, and by most on-hand accounts it sounds as though the show was successful at what it was trying to do. But as fans, we must ask the question core to the condition of being a fan: what about US?
It seems as though we got a lot of interesting answers and even some new questions... but of course, not all
the answers. Which is to be expected with NYCC around the corner, we guess - but there's so much we don't yet know about the state of Transformers for 2018. Click through as we revisit our hopes for HasCon 2017!
A Toys R Us employee who has provided good inside information two times previously
has come back once more to share new findings from the retailer's computer inventory system. We've got listing info showing the pricepoints of Power of The Primes, which aligns correctly with official releases we've seen already. But there's also an unexpected few other items among all of this. And the best part is that it all has "do not sell before" lockout dates, which give a clue when to expect it all! Keep reading!
Reports are coming in that comics legend Len Wein - creator of Wolverine and Swamp Thing, writer of the "All New, All-Different" X-Men
team, and editor of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen
- has passed away at the age of 69. While he is perhaps rightly best known for those accomplishments, Wein was also a screenwriter who worked on no less than four different Transformers series: G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines,
and most recently the current series, Robots In Disguise
. Our condolences go out to Mr. Wein's friends and family.
is still at HasCon and still sending us valuable info from the show! Last night at the VIP dinner, they showed off Power of the Primes Voyager Hun-Gurrr
...whose face was covered in photos, and fans immediately began speculating was related to the Silverbolt mold going by his construction. Eric has sent some clarifications on all of that from Hasbro's John Warden

The Hascon Transformers VIP Dinner event is happening right now, and guest reporter Eric Crownover is in attendance and bringing us the inside info from the venue. The VIP dinner event consisted of a special panel with some of the actor guests, a dinner period, Hall of Fame inductee announcements, and a new product reveal segment, followed by IDW talking about the next big thing coming to the comics universe. The evening appears to be wrapping up with a Stan Bush performance. We've got reports and photos from the evening below, so click through to get all the details!
While this is not a matter specifically relevant to Transformers, the future of one of the major toy retailers will undoubtedly have echos in our neck of the woods. CNBC is reporting that Toys R Us has engaged legal counsel to help find a solution to help address its current debt load, said to be around $400 million. Bankruptcy protection is noted among the options that are possible in this scenario, though no course of action has been decided so far. Find out more below!
Loopaza on Facebook has shared information about TakaraTomy releases during February and March of 2018, including a new batch of Movie The Best figures, a reissue of Masterpiece Bumblebee (the G1 variety, that is), and the next batch of Legends Series after January's assortment of Overlord, Blitzwing, and Autobot Clones - and there's some unexpected items in there! Former Power Ranger Jason David Frank seems to be settling in to his latest status of being a minor part of the world of Transformers, as he took a moment out late last week to share to his Facebook page that he'd signed his first autograph relating to the "Emissary" character he was recently announced to be playing in the Titans Return web series coming later this year from Machinima, showing a photo of the Fortress Maximus poster with the brand new addition of his name. We don't know exactly what to expect of his role, but I think I speak for all involved when I express hope that Emissary will get in some sick karate yells along the way.
We've learned from Variety today of a suit that was filed by Hasbro against DC Comics over the use of Bumblebee. Hasbro is accusing DC of trademark infringement based on at least one toy in the DC Super Hero Girls line of the DC hero character Bumblebee. Hasbro succeeded in late 2015 in registering a trademark on the name Bumblebee in the by now familiar field of toy action figures, vehicles, and robots convertible into other forms. The suit claims the possibility of causing brand confusion and/or being deceptive to consumers, as is fairly standard in this type of proceeding. Read on for more info!
According to Box Office Mojo, Transformers: The Last Knight
has wrapped up its run in at least US theatres as of Thursday, August 24, having clocked in just slightly over 9 weeks on the big screens domestically. Some international markets where the movie opened later may still run for a little while yet, but it's nearing the end of the line. This means that we have a pretty concrete idea of where the final theatrical numbers are going to land. And by this point, there's really no surprises to be had. Keep reading to find out the score...
Groupon, well known broker of local discounts, coupons and such, today has a listing up for the Providence area featuring admission to HasCon. Hasbro's convention takes place in about three weeks, starting September 8th. Right now you can go through Groupon and get three-day adult admission to the event for as low as $85 - almost half off the original purchase price. Single day adult tickets can be had as low as $30, a full 50% off the listed pricing! For locals this is a significant deal, but everyone else still needs to think of travel and hotel costs for visiting the show, which far outstrip the admission costs. You can find a link to the deal page below!
The Marin Independent Journal is reporting today that production for Transformers Universe: Bumblebee
has begun in the Peacock Gap area, in San Rafael, California. The movie caught attention recently by taking a sizeable incentive from the state of California to film the entire movie within its borders. This leg of production is reportedly codenamed Brighton Falls, though whether that will relate to the content of the movie, such as the location it takes place in, is unknown. A photo from just outside the closed filming was posted with the article. You can find that mirrored below.
Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray 3D Blu-ray and Blu-ray director Michael Bay's blockbuster's Transformers: The Last Knight. A little while back, TakaraTomy polled for what Legends Series toys respondents in Japan would be interested in having another shot at. From those results, several preorders went up on TakaraTomy Mall, with the condition that they could be canceled if enough orders weren't received. It seems that has in fact been the case, with Autobase Aichi now reporting a number of those reissues will no longer be happening. Keep reading to find out which ones didn't make the cut!
