HasCon is almost upon us, and Hasbro's been teasing a lot
of things that we may see this Friday. (And so have the leakers in China!) Hasbro's 2018 offerings are on the horizon and there's a ton of blanks to fill in. So what do we hope to see? A few subjects came to mind, and we're counting them down in the ever-popular listicle format. (But no slideshows - they're terrible
.) Keep reading to see!
Facebook Page has posted four pieces of leaked packaging art to Facebook, and they're fascinating. We've got artwork for Starscream, Bumblebee, and Grimlock, as well as an image of an Optimus Prime from a new line of anthropomorphized fidget cubes named Fidget Its
. This raises a bunch of new questions, and we'll tell you what we know and how this has caused us to reconsider the possibility that Cyberverse
is what everybody thought it was. Keep reading for more info!
We got the startings of a new Transformers Fan Club last winter with a mailing list Hasbro was assembling... but it's been dormant since then. But it looks like the new Club could be on the horizon! To be honest, there's a lot
of supposition in here. But a new piece of information from the TFWiki Twitter regarding yesterday's official Titans Return Arcee reveal has got us thinking, and there's a fair bit of circumstantial evidence that adds up. Keep reading to see where we're going with this!
Hasbro's website has posted listings for their San Diego Comic-Con 2017 exclusives, with a new piece of info! The page for Primitive Skatebording Optimus Prime - along with a handful of others such as Star Wars
Black Series Grand Admiral Thrawn - state that the items will be "available to order" on August the 14th. We seem to have our HasbroToyShop release date! The listing also announces that orders will be limited to one per household. Keep reading for more!
So, waaay back when one of the more credible rumor lists was making the rounds, there were a couple of Titan Masters on the list that have not yet come to fruition: Trizer and Optimus Prime. Well, it seems that the latter was a typo or miscommunication, as Amazon Germany just posted listings for Titan Master Toraizer and Optimus Primal!
No photos, but odds seem very, very good that as with e-Hobby Convobat, this set will involve a combination of Sentinel Prime's Infinitus Titan Master and the Apeface Transtector. Keep reading for links to the listings!
From NOTRAB we have a curious photo showing two unknown items. More prominently is an Optimus Prime - which is the Leader Class toy from the 2007 movie line. This features chrome as well as a deco that's not consistent with any prior release of this mold, most notably lacking the orange fade on the truck nose typical of this toy. But what this mysterious new old Optimus is sitting on is some sort of Bumblebee box set. What's up with that? Keep reading for more details!
An official Masterpiece Jazz has been one of those things on the minds of fans ever since the regular Autobot cars began getting visited in the MP line. But factors work against it, chiefly securing a car likeness license. That doesn't stop a parade of supposed teases, leaks, and other purported signs that the time has finally come, often running just ahead of a big event. And this year is no different, as we have an image allegedly showing that Masterpiece Jazz will be officially revealed at Tokyo Toy Show. But it's now certain this is fake. Keep reading to see why.
The British Board of Film Classification has classified two
new Transformers The Last Knight trailers today: one, the trailer we just linked to,
and the other an as-yet unknown 61-second trailer. Is this the original Kids' Choice Awards trailer that the new trailer expands on, or something else entirely? Keep reading to see the BBFC's classification data!
TFW2005 has posted a couple of stories today with some interesting insights into the impending Transformers: The Last Knight
toyline! Most notably, they've now posted (fully-codenamed) case breakdowns for Wave 1 of the toyline! Using this info, they're suggesting that Barricade
is the character code-named "Mars," and that Bumblebee
is codename "Saturn." Keep reading for more info and our analysis of the situation!
An interesting news story has just surfaced that we are choosing to classify as a RUMOR
until we find corroboration: a site called Entertainment Unlimited
has posted a story claiming that Beast Wars
is scheduled to make its return in late 2018 as a Netflix Animated Series! Marvel Comics writer Jason Aaron
is said to be the scripter for the series, and a character list is given - though, given some of these characters one has to assume that this is an all-new continuity and not some kind of continuation of the original. (Which is slightly inevitable since, y'know, Beast Machines.
Keep reading for the list!
TFW2005 has posted a message from online retailer Toyshoppe claiming that LG-EX Black Convoy is coming as a Tokyo Toy Show exclusive this June. It's not super-surprising to any of us that Titans Return
Voyager class Optimus Prime would get made into Robots In Disguise Scourge by TakaraTomy, but it is a little surprising that it seems to be happening before the mold is otherwise released in Japan. Keep reading to see the notice!
Transformers@TheMoon, which tracks Hasbro trademarks likely to be Transformers-related, has posted the specifics of a recent Hasbro filing with the US Patent Office. The filing, specified for being related to conventions and related entertainmnent uses, is for the phrase "The Premier Hasbro Fanmily Event
." Keep reading for more speculation and info on this filing and details on the trademark itself!
So yesterday, ExVee suggested that we may get an entire preview wave
based on the Premier Edition packaging also being used for Deluxe Barricade. But I have a different theory, and I believe - based on a combination of what we know from various toy listings and good old-fashioned pedantry about the English language - that I can back it up. Keep reading for some toy detective work!

With the new trailer hitting the Nets, there's a number of interesting news stories to go along with it. For those not paying attention to the title, the Transformers 6: Bumblebee spin-off definitely begins with Transformers 5 The Last Knight. According to Colliger by way of co-Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. This film will be "laying a pipe" for the Bumblebee movie. He goes on to say we won't notice the "pipe", but it may be too late for that. There is also some word of an alternate, R-rated Bumblebee script idea. Read on for more.
