So we've talked about Flame Toys' Kuro Kara Kuri Drift figure before.
The company has now announced on their Facebook page that the second entry in the series of super-articulated, LED-lit, non-transforming action figures will be none other than the Decepticon Justice Division's leader Tarn! Keep reading to see the lineart for the figure.
As a person with no conventional artistic skills, one of the ways I like to express myself from time to time is by digitally recoloring photos of toys to be other things - Photoshopping! What-If Wednesday is a new occasional feature where I'll share my "what if?" recolors, either inspired by my own ideas, or sometimes from other source media. Our first What-If Wednesday takes on the Headmaster Bludgeon concept seen in the Magna Convoy comic this week, which we get only a limited view of. How might it look and work as a toy? Keep reading and find out!
A while back, ToyHax introduced a label set for Titans Return Rewind
that would turn him into a version of Dispensor
, the infamous soda machine from the first live-action Transformers film from 2007. Now, Trent Troop's Prize Inside! store has upped the ante with a new head and soda gun for the figure! Keep reading to have a better look at the completed custom and a link to Trent's Shapeways store.
Twitter user @kotori_ryo has posted images of a particularly impressive take on Grimlock as seen in IDW's comics - most recently in More Than Meets The Eye: Revolution.
Using Transformers Adventure TAV30 Battle Grimlock as its base, which was itself
a remold of the more G1-like Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Grimlock, the figure is a pretty good match for the comic version and has a beautiful silver and gold finish. Keep reading to see!
The toy-designing whiz known as Jizai Toys was doing third party a decade before that was a thing, making extremely show-accurate transforming figures of characters like Wheelie and Cyclonus. These days, judging from his blog, he seems to be having a lot of fun with his 3D printer making one-off feats of engineering. One of his latest customs: a Mickey Mouse cassette! Keep reading to get a good look at the figure.
Twitter user @ripetakobozu has posted this image of a mashup of Breakways! Using the head and weapons from Titans Return
Deluxe Breakaway along with the 2007 Movie Breakaway - a repaint of Cybertron
Deluxe Hot Shot - the resulting figure is a much nicer looking version of Getaway than either figure is alone. And the head stays on when in vehicle mode! Keep reading to see the photos, mirrored here for your convenience.
BMOG has posted a press release to celebrate their own Trent Troop hitting a singular milestone: in the few months since Titans Return hit stores, Trent has designed one hundred
replacement faceplates for Titan Masters! With inspiration from across the Transformers brand to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Masters of the Universe and even the Sogmaster from Cap'n Crunch, there's a wealth of new head options for your Titans Returns bots that will set you back as little as $5 each on Shapeways. Keep reading for the press release and a link to Trent's store!
The Omochasouko blog has posted images of a nifty custom: Combiner Wars Hot Spot as G1 Headmaster Hosehead! ...okay, technically Headmaster Jr. Cab, but there's no physical differences between the two. The Headmaster itself was carefully customized from Titan Master Skytread, using plastic sheet and plastic pipe to adapt the face to Cab/Hosehead's design. There's a nice new chestpiece as well! Keep reading to see all the photos.
Twitter user @Smokingray7775 has done what RAC had hoped to see done: made a full-on custom Deluxe-sized Brawn out of the Titan Master and Combiner Wars Deluxe Hound! Mounting the Titan Master vehicle as a gun in Vehicle Mode and using a small hole drilled in the torso as a mount for the Titan Master, this is the most complete take on the idea we've seen so far, and requires no permanent changes to the Titan Master itself, retaining full functionality! Keep reading to have a look.
There've been some pretty spectacular Combiner Wars customs of late - the innovative Raiden that made a 6-part combiner in the format comes to mind. Now, a Japanese Twitter user by the name of @nekogami_red has made the Transformers Prime Decepticons into a combiner! Knock Out, Skyquake, Dreadwing, Airachnid (gotta have a helicopter in there somewhere or it's not Combiner Wars, right?), and Megatron combine to form a body for Unicron! Click through to see the photos.
Computron is the second combiner to have dedicated hands and feet - Victorion being the first - but unlike Victorion there's no particularly elegant way to store those hands and feet on the team leader. But you do have some options! We'll take a look at the new parts and what you can do with them after the jump.
Where to start with this amazing custom by Twitter user @omochasouko02? Not only did they create an all-new torso for Combiner Wars First Aid, not only did they create a cockpit for the Titan Master and make a custom socket for Titan Master Nightbeat to serve as Minerva's head, but they also replaced the wonky Nightbeat face with something better, possibly a Generations Arcee face. Keep reading to see the photos, mirrored here!
...along with a little help from Galvatron. It was inevitable: Grimlockimus, AKA @ChromeTyranno, has posted images to Twitter of a custom Skullsmasher done up as Beast Wars Megatron. Not the one from the series, though: this is based on the Alligator Megatron released in a 2-pack with Bat Optimus Primal. Will we see a followup when Mindwipe is released? Here's hoping, but in the meantime keep reading to see Megatron!
When asked about the possibility of Alligaticon Optimus Prime - the gator drone made from Optimus Prime's body in the G1 episode City of Steel
- Hasbro's design team responded along the lines of "why not make your own?" And a Japanese fan has done just that! Converting the just-released Titans Return Deluxe Skullsmasher to Optimus Prime, @ny_chatnoir has done a really nice job on the toy. Keep reading to see the images mirrored here!

With Hasbro so far uninterested in observing the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars, fans seem to be taking matters in to their own hands. Following from the Dinobot made out of Generations Springer we highlighted yesterday, we have a custom Silverbolt by Javier Alvarez. Made from Beast Hunters Grimwing, this calls back to a 2014 poll held by Million Publishing to decide on a future Generations
book exclusive toy. Of course this Silverbolt has a lot more work in it than a new coat of paint! Keep reading to check out this fine piece of work!
