Generation 1 Figures Generation 1

And you thought buying Transformers was already taking a toll on your wallet! According to Reuters, Hasbro will raise the prices of its toys "in the mid-single-digit range" starting September 1, 2008. This price increase is being performed by Hasbro "to maintain its margins to fend off rising commodity costs."

There is an eBay auction up worth noting for one of a few reasons. First, if it is a real 1987 prototype, then it is something you will probably never see again. Second, if its a recent proto, then we might be seeing our first glimmer of the Universe Piranacon set still being talked about. Last, it could be a good KO. At a current bid of $610, its probably something real. Bid on the auction here and get a look at the prototype pics that have been posted in the image gallery.

Toys 'R' Us' website has put up a pre-order for Commemorative Series Soundwave, which is a re-issue of Generation 1 Soundwave. The packaging can be seen on the product page. The figure is due to hit December 6th of this year according to the website. Thanks to "bluestreak1701" of our TFans board for the news.

SOUNDWAVE consistently ranks as one of the most popular characters among collectors, and this Toys R Us exclusive delivers on the iconic look and functionality of G1 SOUNDWAVE. The figure is able to hold two robot cassettes and comes with both LASERBEAK and RAVAGE. SOUNDWAVE’s batteries convert to a hand weapon and shoulder cannon, just as they did in the 1980s. Read more. Fantofan has reported today with new information regarding MP-03 Starscream, MP-04 G1 Convoy (Complete Edition), and KISS Players Hot Rodimus X from the new Figure Oh! magazine. First, new shots are supplied for MP-03 Starscream as well as some new gimmicks. While in "[j]et mode, the Megatron gun mode can actually be attached to the underbelly of the plane, others introudctions [sic] covers his 2 interchangeable face expressions," Fantofan reports. It should not be assumed that the Megatron gun comes with the figure, but rather the Megatron gun from MP-01 Convoy. Read More
