Hasbro's people said during Toy Fair they have exclusives planned for Generations for this year, though they didn't reveal any specifics. Blast Off and Repugnus had both been discovered via leaked materials and distributor information, but it looks like at least one more figure may be joining their Special Edition ranks this year. Amazon.ca has a listing page for Deluxe Counterpunch, and while the currently attached price and some of the product info are a bit wacky, the associated product code makes sense compared to Repugnus and Blast Off. So what could we be looking at? Keep reading for another round of speculation!
Australian distributor the little toy company
has posted preorders for the three Terrorcons in Power of the Primes
wave 3, along with Titan Class Predaking! The now-confirmed Titan is marked $195 AUD (about on par with the standard USD $150 for Titans by today's exchange rate) and is scheduled for August or September, with the Deluxes scheduled for May or June. Keep reading for more details!
Ubiquitous, world-devouring megabusiness Amazon.com
has posted a new listing for Power of the Primes
Special Edition Blast Off! The information in the listing corroborates the leaks
and distributor listings
that pegged Blast Off as a special edition with a bonus Prime Master. Keep reading for more info!
Earlier tonight we shared with you some photos of an apparently early-release copy of Rodimus Unicronus, the new addition to Power of The Primes Leader class wave 2. But there's a bit of a discrepancy with it, as highlighted for us on Twitter by Barricade64
. The official images we've seen of the toy since it was revealed have featured aspects of its deco and the slight remolding of the Rodimus Prime head that point to an intentional nod at the Shattered Glass continuity that was a recurring staple of Fun Publications' time producing licensed material for the brand. It seems that isn't quite so much the case anymore. Keep reading!
While still what we would consider early in its life cycle, it seems that a running change has already been carried out on the latest member of the generations Starscream family. Jason Rye
reported this finding to us, which involves an alteration to how Starscream's wings/backpack connect to the body. The design tweak is said to improve how the jet mode comes together, and may have other benefits as well. You can see a side by side comparison of the two versions of Starscream, find out more detail, as well as get one of the batch codes identified as being associated with this running change below. Transformers Authentics, the "evergreen" style simple budget figures that seem to be taking after the Cyber Battalion series now have product listings on Hasbro's website. The first batch including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, and Megatron are not yet available for purchase from Hasbro Toy Shop, with their "Buy" buttons leading to error pages. But these listings do confirm the SRP, with prices listed at $4.99 each. The listings include the same images that we saw with the Amazon releases recently. Keep reading for links to the individual pages.
Blast Off has been leaked a couple of times, enough to be reasonably sure that it was something to actually exist in the upcoming product line. We have a bit more confirmation of that now through a listing on ACD Distribution. This doesn't give any new information, but it's joined by a second listing that is much more interesting for its implications. Listed additionally as a Generations Special Edition Deluxe is a Repugnus! Repugnus had been conspicuous as the only Monsterbot character that didn't end up making it to the Deluxe scale, but it seems that will finally be achieved, bringing the whole team together. Keep reading for some good old speculation!
In this month's issue of Figure King magazine, there appears to be an article mentioning the similarity of Power of The Primes between its Hasbro and TakaraTomy iterations. Autobase Aichi has reported on this, though not in depth, and based on the web-translation of the blog post, it sounds like this is the start of a stronger push towards bringing the Transformers brand closer together between its main markets. Unfortunately this would serve to confirm that, as the photos showed, we probably shouldn't expect any real changes to the toys for their Japanese release. Keep reading!
TFW2005 user Mr. Chaos
has posted a listing of UPCs for upcoming Power of the Primes
products from ToysRUs' computer! If you've followed the PotP leaks since July and August, the contents of Wave 2 and 3 aren't exactly a surprise - but this is pretty good confirmation of what's to come. Keep reading for more info!
Today we're proud to be rolling out a new feature on TFormers! We call it the Wave Tracker, and it's designed to give you an at-a-glance indication of what the most current info about a given toy is. Are there pre-orders up yet for Power of the Primes
Wave 2? What's the next Masterpiece figure being released? Any reviews or photo galleries of the newest TakaraTomy Legends figures out there? If we know, the Wave Tracker will tell you. Keep reading to learn more!
The find of a brand new DPCI for the Deluxe price point with the start of Power of The Primes has enabled a lot of *ahem* targeted hunting at Target stores across the US. We now have Prime Masters, Legends, Voyagers, and Evolution Leaders ready for searching. Keep reading for all the numbers!
The first of wave 1 literally just started appearing at retail in the US a couple days ago, and we're already starting to see a quick inflow if data about wave 2! Find out what's coming up in the full article below.
Just to be entirely clear, as of the time of writing they are not in stock for purchase. But, Walgreens has added a listing page to their website for the exclusive two pack of Cloudraker and Wingspan, bringing the completion of Hasbro's Clone offerings that much closer. Canada has already seen these hit retail in some capacity, in their case via EB Games - though still with the Walgreens sticker on the packaging. This move puts the Clones on track to start hitting around the same time Brainstorm did last year. Keep reading for a link to the page!
