Takara has released 10 new figures into their Power of The Primes line. This wave features quite a few dinobots and fighter jets including Grimlock, Sludge, Starscream, and Dreadwing. Also included is a prime master of Alchemist Prime.
LRMonline (formerly known as Latino Review) has posted the full cast list for Power of the Primes. The third Machinima series with CG by storied anime studio Tatsunoko Productions features a great many new voice actors as well as many returning voices from the first two installments - some in new roles. Battleslash is built more solidly in robot and vehicle mode than Roadtrap, and has more steps in its transformation. ...but that transformation is designed more than a little annoyingly, the vehicle mode doesn't great, and the Prime Master seating is even more of a joke than Roadtrap. It never ends. At least, not until after Power of the Primes. Machinima has announced the first celebrity voice castings for the followup to the just-ended Titans Return series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Besides those listed in the headline, also mentioned are Gregg Berger, presumably as Grimlock, plus returning cast members Wil Wheaton, Judd Nelson, and Kari Wahlgren. I've been complaining of late that Generations has lost the imagination it once had, falling back on simply remaking, instead of reimagining. That is most certainly not true for the newest interpretation of the G1 Duocon Battletrap, who has been split to become two separate, new characters who combine with each other. As the (admittedly unwitting) answer to my challenge, I just had to try to score these legends figures early, and so here we are today looking at the first part of the pair, Roadtrap.
