Generations Generations

Toywiz have posted an order page for the Transformers Generations Power of the Primes Volcanicus action figure set that appears to include Grimlock, Sludge, Snarl, Swoop, Slug & Slash. Listed at $169.99 USD pre-order price to begin shipping in April, this release is close at hand and makes us wonder why it managed to slip past the displayed at Toy Fair last month. No images yet, just a silhouette, but you can read the production info below.

Gao Sheng Wu, by way of Autobase Aichi, has posted in-hand images of Cyber Battalion class Sideswipe and Shockwave! Shockwave looks particularly nice, turning into a space jet that reminds us to a minor degree of his Fall of Cybertron form. Keep reading to see the images!

Thanks to the Australian Transformers fan community Ozformers and its admin griffin, we have first look photos showing the special reveal wave 3 Power of The Primes toys being debuted at Australia's Toy Fair event today. Hot Spot retool Inferno, Slash redeco Cindersaur, and Brawn retool Outback each have the front and back of their sample packaging shown, as well as a bonus image showing the three toys on display in their alternate modes. We expect to see more of these after a hands-on fan event takes place later today. Click through to check out the first photos!

Just up on the Transformers Facebook page is three new promo renders reflecting some remaining Power of The Primes items not debuted at Toy fair in New York. Instead, based on the Facebook post, these were kept to keep a special reveal for Australia's Toy Fair event. Representing wave 3 we have Legends Class Cindersaur, a Decepticon redeco of Slash, Outback, retooled from Titans Return Brawn, (featuring the character's original name again after years of being Fallback) and rounding out with Voyager Inferno, remolded from Combiner Wars Hot Spot. We've mirrored the images, and you can check them all out below.

The usual Weibo leaker has posted some packaging images for Power of the Primes wave 3! Perhaps most noteworthy is Titan Class Predaking, though we also get package front and back photos for Leader Class Optimal Optimus Primal as well as images for Deluxe Novastar and Prime Masters Bludeon, Octopunch, and Bomb-Burst! Keep reading to see.

Our second video from our forums member TMan978 is for Blackwing - or if you're willing to get dangerous, Darkwing - which ships one per case alongside Rippersnapper and company in Power of The Primes Deluxe wave 2. Fortunately if you miss it this time around, we have inside info that it's planned to be reshipped as part of wave 4. For reference, Blackwing shares a lot of design and engineering with Combiner Wars Air Raid, but also brings a decent amount of new to the table, much like Dreadwind did. The video is embedded below, so go ahead and give it a watch!

We've got a pair of video reviews up today for Power of The Primes Deluxe wave 2 from TMan978 on the forums. First today is Rippersnapper, the lone representative of the Terrorcons at this price point in wave 2 - the rest of the team makes up the majority of wave 3 before Rippersnapper makes a return appearance as a reship in wave 4. If you want to find out if this is worth it all by itself until the rest of the team gets here, check out the video embedded just below!

A quick period of social media hashtag voting has come and gone, and now that the responses have been counted up, John Warden has appeared in a short video on the Transformers Facebook page to announce the winning pair of figures, though the result is hardly surprising if you kept an eye on the voting activity at all while it was going on. Keep reading to find out the winner!

IN A WORLD where Starscream hires Thundercracker to produce a totally factual, historically-accurate account of his life and experiences to bring the people of Earth to love him, only one thing will stand in their way: ...reality. "Thundercracker in: STARSCREAM: The Movie" Written by John Barber, art by Priscilla Tramontano and Andrew Griffith, with colors by John-Paul Bove and Josh Burcham. Click here to read the review!

Soundwave has spent his life either struggling against overpowering voices all around him - especially those of Primes. Now that a full quarter of the twelve original Primes stand on Cybertron, Soundwave isn't happy - nor is he sure who he can trust. The Falling, Part 2: Another Mine is written by John Barber with artwork by Kei Zama and colors by Josh Burcham. Click here to go to the review!

To be fair, Nerf's impact on Transformers has been fairly light, like the touch of a foam ball or a dart. But Nerf itself has undergone a transformation over the years, beginning as a safe, soft, friendly indoor sports brand and ultimately becoming the name (A name which need not be capitalized, FYI, because it's not an acronym) associated with that classic childhood toy, the dart gun. And man, did they take that places. Complicated, sophisticated places. One of which inspired one of our favorite Megatron toys! Read on for more info.

Artist Emiliano Santalucia has shared a very interesting piece of design work on Facebook. Concept art for the Titan Master Loudmouth shows something that had been talked about previously, but probably not seen or heard of widely: Some of the single-pack Titan Masters weren't always going to be the legacy characters they became. This shows in the Loudmouth concept work where, while a few body details are recognizable from the final toy, the large robot face is entirely different from what the toy ended up with. It's unfortunate we never got to see this realized in plastic, but it's cool to have a look at what might have been. Check the full image out below!

Comic Crusaders has released the last of the current crop of comic previews for the weekend, capping us off with the Optimus Prime 2018 Annual in which Thundercracker might just finally get to make a movie! The Annual will be in stores on February 28th, and you can read the preview in the gallery below right now! THUNDERCRACKER IN: STARSCREAM: THE MOVIE! The good news: somebody finally gave Thundercracker money to make a film. The bad news: it's Starscream, and he wants a biographical picture to win over the people of Earth. Will Thundercracker stand by his principles or... well, no, he makes the movie.
