RID 2015 News RID 2015

Via the McDonald's Happy Meal website, we've got the promo image for the next Happy Meal theme coming to McDonald's locations in the US. Robots in Disguise will be making its third appearance alongside a hamburger and apple chips, featuring character figures of Bumblebee, Optimus, Strongarm, and Grimlock, as well as small masks of each of the characters. As is the typical process, the promotion runs with a My Little Pony option for kids more interested in that than robots. We've copied the Transformers promo image, click through to take a look!

We have some information about the European broadcast of the new season of Robots in Disguise, Combiner Force. RegularCapital has a summary of new shows coming to the European Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels starting in or near May. Among them is RID, which will have a start of May 27th, and is noted as running through Saturday, July the 8th on Saturdays and Sundays. That totals only 13 broadcast timeslots. This may not be indicative for other markets, but it does seem like the expected 26 episode Combiner Force season may be split at least for Europe. More info on US airing when available!

We've got a couple pieces of news about the return of the Robots in Disguise cartoon, which will adopt the Combiner Force branding to reflect this year's toy lineup. First we have a Hasbro Studios sales guide document that describes the Robots in Disguise series, including a total number of episodes to offer, which with a little digging gives us a likely number of episodes for the upcoming season. And along that line we also have a possible start date for the cartoon - at least in Canada. Keep reading to find out more!

If Cartoon Network scheduling wasn't quite working out for you, a new option for watching recent Robots in Disguise episodes has just opened up. For users in the United States, Netflix has added the entirety of season 2 as well as the 6 extra episodes that followed its conclusion, offering a total of 19 new episodes on the streaming service. We've learned via Q&A time at Toy Fair that the third season, corresponding to the Combiner Force sub-branding, will continue to air on Cartoon Network, though a premiere date has not yet been set. Happy viewing!

Hasbro has officially released their 2017 Product Information for Robots In Disguise! Featuring Crash Combiners, Team Combiners, and more, this press release covers the products expected for the spring and fall for RID. Most of it is frontloaded for Spring 2017 which, coupled with the investor slide from Friday showing a new show for 2018, allows us to draw some pretty clear conclusions about RID Season 3 being the show's last. Keep reading to see!

Amazon has an order page up for a new Robots in Disguise home video release. This new "collection" represents season 2 ...albeit just a small portion. Releasing on May 30th for about $15, the DVD contains the opening and closing two-parters for RID's second season. And nothing else. Overloaded, and Decepticon Island comprise four of the thirteen episodes of season 2, aligning with the stated 88 minute runtime for the disc. A cover image is included, which you can find mirrored in the full article. Keep reading for that and the product link.

The second wave of Combiner Force branded Robots in Disguise Warrior figures saw a limited release in the Philippines a few weeks ago, but grabbed comparatively little attention at the time. It looks like North American distribution is coming soon, as a new listing on Entertainment Earth shows the next Combiner Force assortment getting ready to arrive as early as March. And it also presents us with the case loadout we can expect to see. Keep reading to find out more!

Thanks to Paul Agnew, we have word - and photo - of the first sighting of the new Combiner Force imprint of the Robots in Disguise line. In specific we have a look at the Legion Class assortment, which was found at retail in Australia. New to this assortment is a Legion Starscream and Springload, along with Optimus Prime and Grimlock. No combiner pricepoints just yet, but it looks like they won't be very far behind at this rate! We've mirrored Paul's photo, so keep reading and have a look.

With various cast and crew hitting social media over the last several months referencing their ongoing work behind the scenes on Robots in Disguise, it's hardly a surprise to have official word today that the show is most definitely getting a third season. Comicbook.com was given the reveal of the details for what will be called Robots in Disguise: Combiner Force. The release copy mentions a five unit Decepticon combiner team, and otherwise does as expected and indicated the season will be based around the play patterns revealed to us last night. There's a few stills for a preview, so click through for that and to read the story blurb!

TFCon this past weekend produced an interesting tidbit of information. Twitter user AutovoltGTS reports from a Q&A panel that Ian Corlett, best known to Transformers fans as the voice of Cheetor will have a part in an upcoming episode of Robots in Disguise. No details of the role could be shared, but with Corlett's voice acting skills, the appearance should be very enjoyable even without the previous Transformers connection. Keep reading for the quoted tweet revealing the news!

It was revealed to us by Hasbro's Ben Montano and John Warden during our interview at Botcon that we could expect to enjoy a third season of the Robots in Disguise cartoon this fall - as "season three" was how they were internally referring to the second half of the season two production block. Now via the Instagram of Hasbro Studios' Tim Cahill we have a photo of a voice recording session described as being for a season 4 script he contributed to. It looks like the current RID series is here to stay a while, surely to the joy of its fans! Keep reading for a copy of the image and its attached comments.

From the same Italian retailer site that produced the in-package images of Titans Return Blaster and Optimus earlier, we can also see similar package shots for Strongarm and Sideswipe in the Mini-Con Weaponizer series. Plus from an Amazon listing oage, we have the robot and vehicle stock shots for Strongarm. The new Strongarm figure and Sideswipe recolor debuted at Toy Fair in February, but largely flew under the radar leaving us with few clear looks until now. No new Sideswipe images are forthcoming, but we do have a low res compilation image from last week. Keep reading to check it all out!

New on RobotKingdom is a listing page for the Mini-Con Weaponizer assortment from Robots in Disguise. This variety calls back to Arms Microns with little robots becoming weapons or equipment for the larger figures. Some of these characters were discovered in the RID app a few weeks ago. Among the more interesting are Tricerashot, a triceratops rifle, and Slipstream who seems to become a rocket pack, or perhaps large arm cannon depending how the larger figure is equipped. Keep reading to see the product image and full listing!

Wal-Mart Canada has listed the Platinum Edition two pack featuring the Voyager class Robots in Disguise Grimlock - remolded from Fall of Cybertron Grimlock - and premium paint RID Bumblebee on their website, available now to be ordered. This gives us a look at the stock photography for these figures, as well as a price of $79.92 CAD - about $60 USD. Whether this reflects the price of the US release which was said to be exclusive to Entertainment Earth remains to be seen. And unfortunately for any so inclined, Wal-Mart.ca does not ship to the US. Keep reading to check out the mirrored images!

There's been a new update to the RID mobile app, and as it usually goes when that happens, we have a range of new images hinting at upcoming toys. Thanks to Fasttrack on TFW we have screencaps of the new additions. Many are just color variations, though sometimes humorous like "Pumpkin Optimus Prime", but along with game art for things revealed at Toy Fair, we do get some good new reveals out of this. We've mirrored relevant images, so click through to have a look and learn more!
