RID 2015 Video Review RID 2015

Our forums member TMan978 has dropped us a line letting us know about a new video he's posted. Just now hitting in the US exclusively at Toys R Us is this year's iteration of Clash of The Transformers, the Robots in Disguise recolor subline, and that includes Paralon, a remold of RID Scorponok which loosely homages Beast Wars Scorponok! You can get a good look at the new head sculpt as well as all the details on the figure's articulation, transformation and more in the video embedded below!

The big bot is the central figure in the Weaponizer sub line featuring lights and sounds, that are somewhat hard to control and can go off at random. Transformation is simple, but not simple enough to justify the small sheet of instructions, that are only one sided. Overall the figure looks cool, and thanks to some well placed swivels, can get into some good sword wielding positions. Most collectors will turn their noses up at this figure, but Prime cuts an imposing pose and is a lot of fun. Keep reading for the embedded video!

Today on our forums, chuckdawg1999 stopped by once again and has shared with us a new video looking at the new four pack release of the Weaponizer type Robots in Disguise Mini-Cons. The video shows the Mini-Cons in both their robotic and weapon forms as well as demonstrating their transformation action features, and then talks about the kind of compatibility you might expect to find across the different segments of the RID line as a whole. The video is embedded below, so click through and check it out!

In this second set, of what could be called Wave 1 of the Minicon Weaponizers, we have our first repaint in Sidewipe, and a new sword Minicon named Windstrike. I was surprised that there wasn't new tooling on Sideswipe, as the new armor bits use the existing ports and slots. Care and a great deal of patience must be used in attaching the armor to Windstrike, as the attachment ports are spotty as best, and attaching the swords to the back of Sideswipe; there's only one way for them to go.

From our forums, chuckdawg1999 has brought us a review for the brand new Strongarm & Sawtooth Mini-Con Weaponizer pack. We got an up close look at this during Botcon, and now we get to see some hands on with it showing the workings of the Mini-Con, the armor parts, and the new Legends scale Strongarm figure. We have the review embedded below, so go check it out!

Once again chuckdawg1999 is on the forums showing off some new Robots in Disguise for us. This time he's finishing off the current run of Mini-Con Battle Packs with Grimlock. Most notable for being able to have a giant dinosaur head clip to the robot mode's arm, that's shown in some detail in the video, along with the usual walk through of transformation and accessory run down. You can watch the video, embedded below - keep reading!

Our forums member chuckdawg1999 has shared a new video with us, starting off a look at the second wave of RID Mini-Con Battle Packs. This video goes over Bumblebee with Mini-Con Major Mayhem. After a quick look at Bumblebee in both modes and the Mini-Con, we get a look at the armor which seems to be a reasonably improved experience versus the wave 1 figures from this price point. Click through to have a look at the embedded video.

On our forums we have yet another video from chuckdawg1999, this one following on Warrior Thunderhoof with a look at Warrior Class Quillfire. In the video we see some elements of the toy's design not clearly revealed previously, plus an extra accessory that helps make this figure a better representation of the character than initially believed. Click through to check out the embedded video!

On the forums, chuckdawg1999 has shared a new review with us yet again, showing off the newly available - and long-awaited - Warrior Class Thunderhoof. One of a very welcome batch of new Decepticon characters reaching this area of the toyline, Thunderhoof caught a lot of early attention with his moose-antlered robot mode and farm tractor vehicle form. We have the video review embedded below, so keep reading and take a look!

Straight from our forums, chuckdawg1999 has brought us a review of Mini-Con Battle Pack Sideswipe from Robots in Disguise. One of the new range of figures for 2016 including a Legends or Cyberverse Commander-size figure with add-on armor and a Cyclone Mini-Con adversary for lots of play potential and visible value for the money, click through to watch the embedded video and see how it turns out in execution!

Tonight chuckdawg1999 is back after the Fracture review he shared with us to bring a look at the general retail version of Robots in Disguise Megatronus. This version features a slightly different deco and non-faceplated alternate head setting it apart from the Toys R Us exclusive release. Click through to watch the embedded video and read Chuck's summary.

Our friend chuckdawg1999 has dropped by the forums again to share a new review with us, this time taking a look at Warrior Class Fracture from RID, a figure we only first saw in color for the first time during Hasbro's pre-NYCC media event, previously only being known via a leaked testshot. Keep reading for Chuck's summary and the embedded video!

YouTuber chuckdawg1999 has posted a review of Titan Changers Optimus Prime! Chuck has a history of reviewing the "kids' line" toys that many other video reviewers and/or collectors wouldn't bother with, and this figure is no exception. If you're curious about this figure, this review may well save you some money. Click through to watch!

Our friend chuckdawg has stopped by the forums to once again share with us a new review video. This time he's looking at the Toys R Us exclusive Optimus Prime vs Megatronus Legion Class Two Pack from Clash of The Transformers. Optimus is another recolor of the existing RID Optimus Legion, while Megatronus is new, but isn't without faults to be found. We've got the video embedded below, so keep reading and take a look!

Knowing the history of Transformers, repaints are a given. When it comes to Grimlock, you can put even money on the repaint being some sort of homage to the G1 look, which is what we have with Gold Armor Grimlock. Now this isn't just a repaint, the head has been retooled with a face plate to better resemble the classic visage. Physically there's nothing new to the mold but if you're a fan of that classic look, this is worth the pick up. Keep reading to check out the embedded video!
