These new apps were produced in partnership with the premier iOS app developer, Madefire. Entertainment Weekly confirms that Hasbro has hired writer Akiva Goldsman to head up the writing team that will work on expanding the Transformers movie world into a broader cinematic franchise. CEO Brian Goldner revealed this in Hasbro's quarterly earnings conference call yesterday, and added that Transformers 5 is expected in 2017. A director is not mentioned, and while Michael Bay was named in connection with the project in rumors it's entirely logical that the financially successful director would be consulted on what "his" franchise would do next. Now, according to Deadline, Paramount is looking at their biggest movie property with an eye towards more varied (and frequent) releases. To that end they're enlisting writer Akiva Goldsman, whose credits range from the drama A Beautiful Mind
to the well-received TV series Fringe
...to Batman Forever
and Batman and Robin.
This should be interesting. The story also hints that Michael Bay may unsurprisingly be returning for Transformers 5 after his current movie project - or at least that TF5 won't go ahead until that project is complete. Keep reading for more details!

2014 marks the 30th Anniversary of Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS, which has been celebrated thus far with a blockbuster film and critically acclaimed comic series’ from IDW. But the party isn’t quite over as IDW still has some TRANSFORMERS debuts this year!
The long-running TRANSFORMERS comic, which originally appeared in 1984, came to an epic conclusion as, TRANSFORMERS: Regeneration One by IDW reached its 100th issue!
The New York Times' Dealbook reports that Hasbro has ended talks with Dreamworks about the possibility of acquiring the company. The big kicker is said to have been a 5% drop in Hasbro's stock price when the acquisition rumor went public - significant because Hasbro was seeking to pay a combination of cash and company stock for the studio. Also, as some predicted, Disney seems not to have taken kindly to the idea of Hasbro buying their biggest animated competitor. Keep reading for more details!
