MasterPiece MasterPiece

The official TakaraTomyMall page for the upcoming Masterpiece Cassette 4-Pack has updated with some new photos! This is an oddball of a set, featuring 2 Autobot tapes despite the absence of an MP Blaster. And one of them is a new Steeljaw mold. Huh. Well, while we wait for the increasingly inevitable MP Blaster, keep reading to see his first two cassettes, along with Wingthing and Enemy!

Takara Transformers MP-10B Masterpiece Black Convoy is repainted in the color scheme of Nemesis Prime, the evil counterpart of Optimus prime. Made of plastic and die-cast MP-10B features clear cab windows and comes armed with a blaster rifle and energy axe.

Coinciding with the launch of the preorder period, TakaraTomy Mall has added photos of the four Masterpiece cassette characters making up their combined MP-15/16-E set. Enemy, Wingthing, Stripes, and new mold Night Stalker are all on display in full color and deco, showing both robot modes and their individual cassette form decos. There's no clear indication of when preorders for the set will be closed, but the page now gives a delivery estimate of December for the set. You can find all the images in the gallery below!

Right behind Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee, it appears MPM-4 Optimus is now becoming available at retail in Asia as well. On Youtube, hirohitokusanagi has posted three videos featuring the new Masterpiece figure. First up is a demo of the transformation. It's compared repeatedly to Revenge of The Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime in the way it works, but none of the numerous steps look particularly difficult. The next two videos show the weapons, plus comparisons alongside other figures. You can find all three embedded below!

Just like Sunstreaker, we've got a TakaraTomy site update for MP-12+, the cartoon deco rerelease of Masterpiece Sideswipe. The differences largely come down to replacing silver paint elements with white, though there may or may not be some minor mold changes to the face. In any case, this release also comes with all the existing piledriver attachments previously spread over several different retailer editions of the standard MP-12. You can find all 25 images in the gallery below!

From TakaraTomy's big website update today, we've got a big stack of official photos of Masterpiece Sunstreaker. Many are images that we've seen before in promoting the figure, but new to this update are a set of turnarounds that show the toy in robot mode and both configurations of its vehicle mode, giving a "360 view" of it that might offer some angles we haven't seen so far. All of the photos - there's over 30 of them - can be found in the gallery below!

Not content to merely drive RFC's diecast bananas via giving a duplicate Masterpiece its own number, HasbroAsia is including a set of literal diecast bananas as their region-exclusive bonus for MP-38 Optimus Primal Legendary Leader Version! Site Sponsor Robotkingdom has photos of said bananas as well as package shots of the more toy-oriented version of the figure, which is due to start shipping this Saturday. Keep reading to see!

Following from the reveal of the versus set or sets at TakaraTomy Mall, we actually have a first look at the new Steeljaw Masterpiece, seeing apparent first action as the obscure character Nightstalker. While the image in the solicitation was a silhouette, some quick level adjusting brings out all the details of the figure. And it's almost like someone wanted us to discover this, as none of the other images yield any detail when subjected to the same process. We'd guess someone's sneaking one out while not being permitted to show it officially. Whatever the case, you can check that out below!

A vague rumor circulated recently about a new release of the Masterpiece cassettes, and though it's a little later than was promised, it looks like the reveal has come. TakaraTomy Mall has listed a preorder for a set of MP-15 and 16-E, which will contain cassette character Nightstalker, Stripes, Enemy, and Wing Thing. Interestingly, Nightstalker originally was a black version of Steeljaw - someone we currently don't have as a Masterpiece. Is this our first sign of an official Masterpiece Blaster on the way? Keep reading for details!

From NOTRAB again, we have a few photos of Movie Masterpiece Optimus Prime. Bumblebee is expected to be officially released (at least in Japan) around the start of July, so it's been getting most of the attention lately, both officially and unofficially. Optimus Prime though does not look like it would be far behind if finished samples like this one are already out there. And these photos reinforce that this might well be the very best transforming representation of the on screen appearance of the pre-AOE design. We have the new photos mirrored below, click through to have a look!

From the Toy People blog comes perhaps our best in-hand look at MPM-3 Bumblebee so far. With very detailed coverage of the vehicle mode, lots of close ups on the various elements of the robot mode, including the articulated hands, head and battle mask, and tons of mechanical detailing. Plus there's shots with Masterpiece G1 Bumblebee, as well as emulating some of the poses that have been seen in character art among other shows of poseability. We've got the photos mirrored, click through to have a look!

Via the Toys R Us Youtube channel, we've got an extended ad promoting the return of the Hasbro edition of MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime. The two minute video is a bit of a refresher on what this figure has to offer, along with some uncredited fan "testimonials", all framed and presented by John Warden. With such a video released now, we can anticipate that this will appear in stores relatively soon. Good news for anyone who wasn't able to get one the first time around! Click through to watch the video.

Tonight, vn gundam on Youtube has posted a video featuring Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee. The video looks at the robot mode, including articulation and option features like the battle mask and arm cannon. A transformation demo starts at about 4:33 ...and continues to nearly the end of the 16:43 video. While similar in size to the Masterpiece G1 Autobot Cars, Bumblebee certainly seems to have a grade or two beyond in complexity! The video has no dialogue and is straightforward enough to follow. Check it out, embedded below.

Looks like it's Masterpiece Day! This photo just showed up on Imgur via Reddit user lacklustername, presumably from the Tokyo Toy Show: a TakaraTomy slide showing off MP Dinobot! We got a look at the render version of the figure the other day, but this photo is our first look at a real, physical toy. Keep reading to see the image!

Last up for the TakaraTomy stock photos this morning is a quick round of MP-12+ Lambor - or Sideswipe, as you prefer. Like the "plus" version of Red Alert before it, this goes for a deco more in line with the cartoon appearance, largely trading out its silver paint for white in the process. This appears also to come with a full assortment of piledriver add-ons, accessories that had in the past been split among retailer exclusive editions. MP-12+ Is expected to hit shops in Japan in late November. Click through to see the photos.
