HASCON returns in 2019... Er uh, what happened to 2018? Just a guess, they are waiting for another Movie year with Bumblebee and MLP closer to the show. In any case, they have decided to let us know two years in ahead of time the second convention will be held at the same time and place as before.
While good for Hasbro, it is a kind of shame they are not going to stage the event for others around the country. Otherwise, this is just an initial announcement with more details you can read after the jump.
Note that date: the official Transformers Facebook page has just announced that a second HasCon will be happening September 6-8th, 2019.
At the moment, no other information is available, though Hasbro thanks fans for "making (the) first HasCon a huge success". More information as it becomes available - but with us being two years out, that could well be a while. In the meantime, keep reading to see the announcement!
One more video from our Hascon VIP Dinner Event reporter, Eric Crownover. He captured the special presentation videos shown before the Hall of Fame inductions of Susan Blu and movie series producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. One was a minutes-long collection of congratulations and well wishes from celebrities and notable individuals in the world of movies, the other was 30 seconds of Arcee clips. We'll let you sort out which presentation went with which person, and then you can click through to watch the video embedded below!
Eric Crownover covered the VIP Dinner Event at Hascon this past weekend for us, and along with the panel reports and toy reveal images, he also brought us some quick video clips from presentations during the event. First up we have a tribute to the tenth anniversary of the Transformers movie series, acting as a quick retrospective of the movies - which also probably served as a decent warm-up for the Hall of Fame induction of movie producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura! You can find the video embedded in the post below.
Thanks to @preterniadotcom
on Twitter for pointing this out! The HasCon 2017 exclusives, including Titans Return
Arcee and Transforming Power Bank Optimus Prime, have all been added to HasbroToyShop with a sale date of September 20th. So those of us who didn't have a hookup at HasCon still have a shot! Keep reading for links to both figures.
Thanks to RFC's diecast, we've got a quick video on his RFC Reviews channel showing the Power of The Primes toys on display during Hascon. One detail visible in this video that seems to have largely been overlooked is an Enigma of Combination
shown at Grimlock's feet. Like the various forms of Matrix included with Leader toys, the Engimas are the special accessory component for the Voyager figures that within the function are what permit them to combine with the Deluxes. You can find the video embedded below, and a screenshot showing the Enigma. Keep reading!
Thanks to Unicron.com, any of us that didn't make the trip to Hascon this weekend can now check out the Prime Wars Trilogy panel in video form on Facebook. This panels covers aspects of design in the toys, toy packaging, the current mobile games, and Machinima's efforts in bringing entries of this trilogy to animation, and that includes a look at the Titans Return series they'll be debuting in November. You can find the panel video embedded below!
Though the Sunday performance of the "More Than Meets The Eye" Transformers brand team panel was more or less the same as what early arrivals saw on Friday, we did end up with a little bit new to see before Hascon wrapped up. Some spare samples were opened, permitting the Hot Rod mode of Power of The Primes Rodimus Prime to be shown off, as well as a fresh Optimus so it and Orion Pax could be displayed together. We've got photos of this thanks to Anthony from TFU.info and David "FakeEyes22" on Twitter - who also took an extra showing a sheet of paper being used to better hide incriminating info on the back of Starscream's box. SECRETS! Keep reading to see!
with info about Prima and Megatronus! Radio Free Cybertron and the reliable Eric Crownover
are at the HasCon Prime Wars Trilogy
panel! It's been an interesting one so far, showing behind the scenes artwork and prototypes behind Combiner Wars, Titans Return,
and Power of the Primes
! Also, one of the PotP slides shows us designs for Prima
and Megatronus, The Fallen
...who bear more than a small resemblance to the Leader Black Shadow/Overlord mold. Abandoned concept or upcoming exclusive? We don't know yet, but keep reading to see it all!
Our reporter on location, Eric Crownover has brought us our first look at Optimus Primal, the fans choice vote winner for the new "Prime" character to appear in Power of The Primes. Attendees at the VIP event got to see grey prototypes of the toy's various modes, plus some design CG models that show how things are intended to work together. This seems like a tribute to the various forms of Primal, as it even has a configuration involving a hoverboard. For more from the VIP event, click here
, and keep reading this article to check out the Optimus Primal images in the gallery!
The Hascon Transformers VIP Dinner event is happening right now, and guest reporter Eric Crownover is in attendance and bringing us the inside info from the venue. The VIP dinner event consisted of a special panel with some of the actor guests, a dinner period, Hall of Fame inductee announcements, and a new product reveal segment, followed by IDW talking about the next big thing coming to the comics universe. The evening appears to be wrapping up with a Stan Bush performance. We've got reports and photos from the evening below, so click through to get all the details!
Thanks to fandom institution Ben Yee we have some photos that were tweeted out earlier this afternoon showing an up close look at the grey testshot sample for the Power of The Primes Dinobots' combined form Volcanicus. This gives up a good look at some of the structural details of the combiner, as well as a first reveal of the mounting point on the body for a Prime Master or one of the Matrix cores, or if you're feeling extra wacky, probably a Titan Master head too! You can find Ben's photos in the gallery below.
Thanks to Unicron.com we have a look at the HasCon Peter Cullen and Frank Welker panel from the convention. Check out what makes these two guys some of the greatest cartoon voices we know from Transformers and so many other properties.
The Transformers Facebook page has posted clear looks at some of the render images that were used in today's brand team panel presentation. This gives us a clear look at the slide images for the Dinobots - including a Swoop still showing a red deco from before the cartoon-inspired tweak - as well as Optimus Prime and Prime Master Micronus with Cloudburst suit. We've got the images mirrored, keep reading to take a look, and keep checking back for updates straight from Hascon!

Though we don't know the specific source for the photo apart from a website brand mark, we have a photo of the Titans Return Arcee & Ultra Magnus set that will be made available first at Hascon this weekend. The set is seen in a closed display cabinet with an information card, so this may have come from within the convention center. Most notably, the card indicated the set will later be available from major retailers, which runs opposed to the theory of this possibly being a first exclusive for a new fan club. This weekend should tell the tale either way. Click through to see the photo.
