The Transformers 5 Movie Rumor Mill Gets Going With Ultra Magnus & Quintessons
RAC - Thursday, July 23, 2015

The Transformers Live Action Move Blog has posted a rumor sourced from noted Hollywood insider site Christian Today... which got it from Design & Trend... which got it from some podcast who got it from some random Facebook page ...that Ultra Magnus and the Quintessons will appear in Transformers 5. We're skeptical, for reasons we'll go into in the article - but this is notable because it means the TF5 hype train is underway. Keep reading for more details on this game of Internet Telephone!
File this under "grain of salt" but Christian Today (how is that for an odd source for movie rumors?) is reporting that one plot point being considered for Transformers 5 would introduce the movie version of the Quintessons and Ultra Magnus. Optimus Prime would meet the Quintessons, who in the movie-verse would be the Transformers creators, to get answers about why they wanted to kidnap him from Transformers: Age of Extinction. Part of the plot would include introducing Ultra Magnus who would have history with Megatron (now Galvatron).

We've tracked this story back a couple of steps. Christian Today cites Design & Trend, who cite Breathecast.com. All of whom you may note that you have never actually heard of. We didn't bother trying to source Breathecast's source, Comic Central CIty, because searching for specific posts on Facebook is awful. Beyond which, the Breathecast post dates back to late 2014, before the Transformers Cinematic Universe's writers' room was even assembled. We bring this to you both to announce that the TF5 rumor mill is well underway, and as an illustration as to how low-tier rumors propagate on the internet. We'll be reporting on the entire Transformers 5 experience and process (and gossip!) as information becomes available!

Greg "M Sipher" Sepelak reported on Twitter that he found two of the presumed-Walmart Exclusive Transformers: The Last Knight "Autobots Unite" Two-Packs on sale at Ross! For those not familiar with the chain, Ross is one of a number of discount store chains in the US - along with TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Ollie's - where Transformers items show up with a certain regularity. If you see them, a pair of Legion class figures will run you $5, and a pair of Turbo Changers will run you $12. Keep reading for the photographic proof, mirrored here for convenience.
We reported in September that the release of TLK-29 Cogman, originally planned for the end of October, had been delayed with no followup release date given. It's taken a while, but we finally have some good news on this story. An update has been posted by TakaraTomy, and Cogman is back on the schedule. If you were counting on the Japanese release to bring you one of the best toys the Transformers The Last Knight line has to offer, it looks like you're back in business! Click through for the updated release details!
Our anonymous Walmart insider has once again provided us with a new photo! This time, we've got a "PDQ" display of Transformers: The Last Knight Premier Deluxes for the holidays. And - it's so sad to say this is an improvement - it features the second wave of Deluxes, featuring Slug, Sqweeks, Drift, and Steelbane! Hopefully this is just the start and Hasbro won't be leaving money on the table by leaving Cogman's wave so difficult to find. Keep reading for the photo!
Autobase Aichi has posted images of more of TakaraTomy's Transformers: The Last Knight promotional items, and details on how to get them! Those who spend 2,000 Yen or more at TakaraTomyMall right now will net themselves a Bronze Calibur Axe. Meanwhile, those who spend at least 5,000 Yen starting November 11th will be give a set of golden weapons for Optimus Prime and Megatron - the Temenos Sword and "Battle Axe" - while supplies last.
