News

Third party Transformers news for the week ending September 27th, 2014. Includes the latest news from Boldforms, Custom Robots, DX9 Toys, Keith's Fantasy Club, Play With This Too, Renderform, TFC Toys and Toy Stages. Screen shot this week is of of the Heathkit Hero 1 on Mister Wizard's World.

MP-20 has barely been out a week, and already there's an announcement of Third Party parts for him! The twist is that this is a new group, the Guild of Concoctious Intent (nice name!), formed by members of the 2005 forums. The cannons will mount on Wheeljeck's shoulders, have a mounting part for vehicle mode, and even work with the MP Sideswipe mold! Keep reading for more info and pictures!

Just out are new images of the Keith's Fantasy Club Haiku action figure. This toy is a third party Transformer homage to the Predacon Sky-Byte. Get a look at the box and the painted figure in his robot shark mode for a the full look at the product release.

Toy collector display maker Toystages has posted a variety of backdrops to their site recently that may interest Transformer collectors. These backdrops are all designed to help you set up fun displays of your figures. The scenes on these backdrops include the headquarters of the Autobots and Decepticons, the desert, and their home planet of Cybertron, as well as backdrops based on 1984 toy box art. 15 different ones to choose from.

Renderform has announced a pair of replacement heads for Fansproject's Steelcore that are inspired by the Armada Overload AKA Energon Ultra Magnus mold. RFX-008 Steel Magnum is based more directly on Energon Magnus (apparently inspired by the prototype head for Steelcore) while RFX-009 Iron Magnum is a modified design. Both are available in Energon Magnus and Steelcore color schemes. Keep reading to see photos!

Renderform has posted extensive images of their upcoming Alex Milne-inspired heads for Fansproject Code and Smart Robin. Each of the three nontransforming heads- both regular and flashback heads for Chromedome - has a variety of eye/visor options and is available in super-limited quantities. Keep reading for all the details and extensive photos!

A new company called Play With This Too was formed recently, made up of several former Hasbro exployees. They plan a startup in February with a crowd sourced figure. The PWTT figure design, while not an homage to any existing Hasbro products, is made along similar ideas. There will be heroes and monsters. It will feature a 6 inch tall figures with reconfigurable armor and lots of 5mm ports. Released already is concept art for one of their heroic designs called Astroblast.

Via their Facebook page, third party group Bold Forms has posted a picture of their figure based on the Stunticon Breakdown. Seen in what appears to be a very early stage prototype, the scale seems to be smaller than that most combiner teams have begun to skew for, although this one does sport a rather large rifle perhaps more useful for the fully formed combiner. This clearly has many stages of revision ahead of it to reach a point of adequate polish to go to retail, but we have to wonder if Hasbro's own Stunticons may erode interest away from this project.

TFSource has shared photos of the upcoming Keith's Fantasy Club Overslay and Haymaker! The Masterpieceish versions of Overkill and Slugfest are shown interacting with MP Soundwave, and with their final packaging, and otherwise looking pretty nifty. Keep reading to see the photos!

The Facebook page for ASH's Universe has posted a new photo gallery for Unique Toys' upcoming Troll, the Blot equivalent for a projected team of Terrorcons who will form Ordin, who of course greatly resembles Abominus. Troll's looking pretty great, and comes with a versatile set of accessories that will of course form other parts for Ordin. Still can't look at the missile pod foot without seeing an old-fashioned telephone, but that's just me. Keep reading to see the photos!
