Fansproject Release Teaser Hidden In Extra's For Assulter!

By Reluttr on Thursday, November 15, 2012

BBTS just put a picture of the tree of unpainted mini figures included with assulter for use in carrier mode. All is in place with the top row, Defender in copter mode, car mode, steel cores cab, and trailer. The teaser is in the second row of miniatures on the tree, the first being a race car, most likely a nod to Drag Strip from the upcoming Menasor release. The next item on the sprue is a futuristic jeep, but not just any jeep, its g1 roadbusters alt mode! Which if you remember right, a stylized roadbuster robot mode was also featured in the comic with Protector's comic.

Then we come to the last 2 items on the tree, a pair of very futuristic motorcycles, they almost look like the perfect effect/idw arcee design. I would say its a nod to a possible Computron release since afterburner had a alt mode similar to that, but whats weird is that there is a pair of the cycle, like with the release of PE-DX-01. Does this mean there is a collaboration project between Perfect Effect and Fansproject in the works? Its highly possible, FP has collaborated with Maketoys in the past, and since FP is interested in reinventing the power, target, and head masters, it would only make sense to work with the masters of tiny transforming robots.

Whats probably the most exciting thing about this all is that since FP released a physical item of these designs then its means that they already have a working model of all of them. So basic or not, FP has began work on ALL of these in one way or another and have made it past concept art stage!

More Third Party News
Recently disovered in the background art on the Play With This Too web site by fans, there are images of a Landmine homage character. When this was posted on message boards Rik Alvarez of PWTT commented "Finally somebody found one of our easter eggs. We pepper them throughout most of our announcements..." The figure seems to be a combination of parts seen on the Play With This Too figure Astroblast and Deep Earth Explorer, as well as original parts. You can see the sword and smaller/inner robot images that look like Landmind in these enhanced background photos.
DX9 Toys have posted new photos of final colors samples of their D04 Armor Kit, designed to give Age of Extinction's Evasion Mode Optimus a new look. Taking cues from the Apex Armor (or Godbomber for the Masterforce purists), the set gives Optimus extra armor, weapons and wings and massively changes the look of the original toy. Advertised as suitable for both Hasbro and Takara's standard releases, this set is turning a lot of head. It's expected to be available very soon. Keep reading to see all the photos!
Third party Transformers news for the week ending October 18th, 2014. Includes the latest news from Ark Studio, Badcube, Before and After, DMY, HeeroToysMaker, Keith's Fantasy Club, Maketoys, MasterShooter Collectibles, Planet X and Play With This Too. Screen shot this week is of one of the Armada robots from the 2013 film Atlantic Rim.
Following teaser images of the figures to be included, Mastershooter has posted updates on their Facebook page revealing the theme of the Shooter Master set they'll be offering at TFCon in Chicago later this week. Criminal Investigation pairs "Ballgag", with coloring based on Nightbeat's Headmaster Muzzle, and "Hustler" colored after Starscream's Mini-Con Swindle. Pricing is still to be determined, but keep reading to check out the package shot and card art!
Vangelus (you know the one) has put up a video featuring both Brawny and Backland, the Masterpiece-scale/style figures representing Brawn and Outback by Badcube, formerly known as Cubex. While the video does not entirely make it clear, these appear to be test shot figures, but should be overall representative of the production units. If Huff had poor reception enough to drive Cubex to rebranding, this video will be a big step towards determining if they've come out of it for the better.
