Actor D.C. Douglas, voice of Chase The Police-Bot on Transformers: Rescue Bots - currently the single longest-running Transformers television series - has announced that he will not be returning as Chase for the followup series, Rescue Bots Academy. Neither will anyone else, not even Peter Cullen, as the studio has chosen to recast the entire show using nonunion labor while moving production from Los Angeles to New York. Following on from TRANSFORMERS ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, Signature Publishing is targeting younger fans of the massive, evergreen brand, TRANSFORMERS with the launch of TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOTS magazine, under license from Hasbro. Aimed at the pre-school market TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOTS is the official magazine for the hugely popular animated cartoon series - one of the most-watched shows on Tiny Pop and the #1 selling TRANSFORMERS toy line for Hasbro.
Hasbro has posted a product page for a new variant Bumblebee in the Rescue Bots line. Knight Watch Bumblebee turns in to a dragon, and has a knight-themed robot mode. As the pictures show, the two included dragon Mini-Cons turn in to axes, and the dragon wings form a shield. As this is just a Hasbro.com listing, no indication is given in terms of when it might be found in stores. We've mirrored the stock photos so you can check out the new figure. Be sure to click the Original Image link on each album page to see the full resolution photos!
