Custom of the Week: Computron/Technobots by ALPHAMAGNUS
Garage Mod - Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Transformers Garage is on the look out for the best custom / kitbash to feature each week here and in the Transformers Garage Hall of Fame section. This week's featured custom are the Technobots by ALPHAMAGNUS. The five Technobots Scattershot, Strafe, Nosecone, Lightspeed, and Afterburner form Computron in this great-looking custom.

Technobot Scattershot

"Scattershot is the combination of 1/2 Energon Ironhide and 1/2 Energon Jetfire with generous removing of excess parts. His backpack is from Energon Bulkhead. The head is from Robots In Disguise Ultra Magnus. Cannon courtesy of Unicron's chest blaster."

Technobot Strafe

"Strafe was made form an Energon Skyblast. I gave him knees, and reconfigured the wings to resemble G1 Strafe. His blasters are from 2x Energon Battle Ravages and the head was from Energon Duststorm."

Technobot Nosecone

"Nosecone was based from a heavily modded Energon Stormcloud. His drill was from an old Braves combiner, and the treads are from Energon Shockblast. Missile launchers are from the Classics seeker mold."

Technobot Lightspeed

"Lightspeed was made form Armada Blurr with Energon Duststorm's head."

Technobot Afterburner

"Afterburner was made using Cybertron Ransack and his head is from Energon Sledge. The shield was a part of a Gundam PVC. I haven't found proper G1 weapons yet, so his tiny pistol is all he's got."

Very nice individual Robot Modes. I agree that the legs are a little under developed. I have a spare Unicron waist if you are interested. Those thighs are much larger. I think it looks better than my custom Computron pictured below... Individual Forms (link) I always make that joke about Comp... read more

That is just majestic! Though I find Computron's legs to be too you have to commit in order to get all those spare parts! :dclol

This is pretty sweet. Like the individual robot modes better than the combined form. It's funny seein a giant transformer with skinny ankles. LOL Really impressed with the detail work overall though.

Agreed. What's stopping Hasbro from coming out with something like this?

Dude that is sick! You should definitely apply for a job at Hasbro (God knows they could use someone like you). By the way, Are you interested in selling it? Let us know. I got first dibs on it.

Sideshow and Prime 1 Studio are proud to present Ultra Magnus from Transformers: Generation 1. Designed by renowned artist Josh Nizzi, famous for his interpretation for the Transformers movies. Ultra Magnus is a white redecoration of G1 Optimus Prime and crafted with impressive attention to detail and features LED light-up eyes and stands approximately 24 inches tall. Read on for the full details and image.
Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Hobby Lobby has had a few waves now of different kinds of Transformers art stamped in to sheet metal. A new offering in this line has just recently hit, bringing some new choices. We found today two pieces featuring G1 Optimus, and Bumblebee, represented in the design of the 2006 Classics toy, at Hobby Lobby. They were priced at $18.99 each, which may seem a touch steep for something the size of perhaps a small calendar. But we can't deny the art on them look really sharp. Click through for images of both!
D3+Transformers Racing Unveils New Race Car for 2018 Competition at Petit Le Mans! The brightly colored red, black and white race car with the large Transformers Autobot shield on the nose was impressive at the highly attended press conference at the final race of the IMSA 2017 season. The @miiakira2017 Twitter account continues to share G1 design work! Today, we've got some sketches for Octane, described here in a very British way as a "Tank Lorry"; artwork for a pair of folding launcher bays designed in the Diaclone Car Robots days, and what are described as figure studies for "erasers," but don't seem to match either the Decoys or the G1 erasers that were produced - at least the US ones.
