Shout! Factory, the publisher of the
Transformers Generation 1 - The Complete First Season - 25th Anniversary Edition DVD, is set to announce the Generation 1 Complete Series set during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, reports
Home Media Magazine.
Brian Ward, Producer and Manager of the Transformers DVDs coming Shout! Factory,
recently posted on the forums of the company's website that a complete series is in the pipeline and would be announced soon.
According to the Shout! Factory's president Garson Foos, the company will announce the
The Transformers: 25th Anniversary "Matrix of Leadership" Edition Collector’s Set, during Comic-Con. The convention is slated to run from July 23rd to the 26th at the San Diego convention center, the entertainment website reports.
After the announcement, the company will be "sold online directly to consumers, before a wide retail." The idea is to capitalize on
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen being in theaters, which would have been released a little over a month at that time.
Paraphrasing Mr. Ward, Home Media Magazine reports that the
Matrix of Leadership cover will slides apart to reveal a "shiny blue foil core which houses the set’s 16 DVDs in plastic digistack trays." The set also will include a collectible booklet.
Mr. Ward previously wrote on the Shout! Factory forums that the cover is "AWESOME," (emphasis his) and "is the set for the people that GET IT."
The set will include two exclusive bonus features: a conversation with writer Bob Budiansky, and a roundtable discussion with eight original members of the voice cast, including Frank Welker, reports the site.
On top of these features, Home Media also reports that the sets will include the same bonus materials as the individual sets will. This is inline with Mr. Ward's previous comments.
There is no word on how much the set will cost.
