Tony Todd Says He Will Return in Transformers 3
bwbm - Monday, February 08, 2010

Tony Todd has revealed in a recent interview that he will return in Transformers 3 and explosions will also return.

He does not specify what role he will play in the film, but when asked if he will definitely return in Transformers 3, the Den of Geek quotes him as saying, "You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!" When solicited on a little preview of the film, Mr. Todd said, "there's more of it!" and thumping on the desk with his hand while making explosion sounds, continuing, "Something along those lines!"

This is a little bit of a deviation from what Director Michael Bay said about the third addition to the franchise, which he said would rely less on the number of robots and explosions, but focus more on the robot character.

However, given the jump of explosions from Transformers to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, less explosions could simply mean we return to the level of Transformers.

The following is the segment of the interview involving Transformers 3:
Den of Geek: Are you involved in Transformers 3 do you think?

    Tony Todd: Yes.

    Definitely?

You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!

Is there anything you can tell us about it? It's got to be worth a try.

No! There's more of it! [Laughs, starts thumping desk and making explosion sound effects]. Something along those lines!
For the full interview, which discusses more of Mr. Todd's past and future work, head over to Den of Geek.

Hmm...my only thought is that Transformers 3 might have flashbacks showing the begining of the War...yes, we've seen it in comics, but it would be pretty impressive to show Megatron and Optimus ruling together, their falling out, the Fallen tempting Megs and the rise of the Decepticons. Following their Superior Optimus Prime statues what melds aspects of the Generation 1 and Movie characters. Prime 1 Studio bring us Superior Megatron. The teaser image doesn't give up a whole lot, with a look at what may be his chest plate, but we'll be seeing more of this guy soon enough.
Following the earlier reveal, we have some new images and a story of the Transformers Superior Optimus Prime from Prime 1 Studio that is a Generation 1 and Movie Mash-up bust statue. The Superior one is said to part of the Transformers: Age of Time universe. It was designed by Josh Izzi who has sculpted statues for the other Premium Masterline Transformers statues before. Read on to see the details and new looks at Prime's face and the bust for more info.
As it turns out, several days ago Michael Bay stopped to have a quick chat with MTV in a video clip available on MTV's Facebook page. The questions focused mostly on next year's Bumblebee spinoff movie, with a bit of the conceptual angle of it revealed. There was also the ever-present question of whether Bay was truly leaving the franchise behind now. Whether he is or not (his response was decidedly non-committal) he did say he wants to direct one of the later spinoff movies, so he's likely to be back in some capacity or another no matter what. Keep reading to see more.
Prime 1 Studio is proud to present MMTFM-14: Shockwave from The Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Shockwave was left to watch Cybertron by Megatron long ago, arriving on Earth to hunt for the AllSpark shortly after Megatron. A peerless scientist with deadly efficiency and a cold devotion to logic, he is one of the very few who could rival Megatron. Shockwave is ready and willing to destroy the Autobots with his arm-mounted AstroMag Cannon.
Director Michael Bay has appeared in a quick video clip on the official Weibo account for the Transformers movie series, in which he's putting it to the fans in China to help decide on the city in which a tenth anniversary event will be held. The voting period runs the first two weeks of this month, and it does not seem to be specified when the event itself will be held, as that will likely depend on specifics to be worked out with the chosen city. We've embedded the message below, which seems to be viewable even without a Weibo account. Check it out now!
