Tony Todd Says He Will Return in Transformers 3

By bwbm on Monday, February 08, 2010

Tony Todd has revealed in a recent interview that he will return in Transformers 3 and explosions will also return.

He does not specify what role he will play in the film, but when asked if he will definitely return in Transformers 3, the Den of Geek quotes him as saying, "You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!" When solicited on a little preview of the film, Mr. Todd said, "there's more of it!" and thumping on the desk with his hand while making explosion sounds, continuing, "Something along those lines!"

This is a little bit of a deviation from what Director Michael Bay said about the third addition to the franchise, which he said would rely less on the number of robots and explosions, but focus more on the robot character.

However, given the jump of explosions from Transformers to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, less explosions could simply mean we return to the level of Transformers.

The following is the segment of the interview involving Transformers 3:
Den of Geek: Are you involved in Transformers 3 do you think?

    Tony Todd: Yes.

    Definitely?

You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!

Is there anything you can tell us about it? It's got to be worth a try.

No! There's more of it! [Laughs, starts thumping desk and making explosion sound effects]. Something along those lines!
For the full interview, which discusses more of Mr. Todd's past and future work, head over to Den of Geek.

Thanks to Hobbybase who have posted new in-hand images of the TakaraTomy Transformers 4 Lost Age LA-13 Battle Attack Nemesis Prime figure. Get a look at the recolor of the Power Attackers Optimus Prime figure mold in the robot and vehicle modes for the full details on this figure.
Licensed merchandise has always been a rough territory, and Age of Extinction proves no different. A character watch obtained by Transformers Colombia member Edward Jonathan Elizalde proves this quite well, by presenting what would very much like to be the face of Lockdown, but more comes off as a generic robotic skull face with a buzzcut. However, if the novelty of having something vaguely like a Quintesson Death face on your watch is appealing, keep an eye out, as they'll probably find their way to Ebay for years to come! Autobase Aichi has posted a set of catalog images from the recent Lost Age toy releases, and one of them is a fresh look at Advanced Series Ultimate Optimus Prime. AD-31 is an extensively painted and extensively remolded version of TF4 Generations Leader Optimus Prime, making it the most movie-accurate transforming toy of everyone's favorite victim of Space PTSD. Toys R' Us have joined the Transformers: Age of Extinction DVD bandwagon with a new offering of exclusive Kre-O Optimus Prime and Glavtron figures that will inclused in a special edition boxed set. The set is listed for $19.99 USD to be released on September 30th 2014. Check out the image of the DVD box with figures below for a preview now.
Besides the Cloud update, TakaraTomyMall also posted a variety of pictures of new Lost Age series figures, including Power Attackers Grimlock, Slug, Snarl, and Galvatron. Also pictured is a four-pack of one-step Transformers with Optimus Prime, Galvatron, Slug, and Helicopter Drift. Keep reading to see the images!
