Tony Todd Says He Will Return in Transformers 3

By bwbm on Monday, February 08, 2010

Tony Todd has revealed in a recent interview that he will return in Transformers 3 and explosions will also return.

He does not specify what role he will play in the film, but when asked if he will definitely return in Transformers 3, the Den of Geek quotes him as saying, "You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!" When solicited on a little preview of the film, Mr. Todd said, "there's more of it!" and thumping on the desk with his hand while making explosion sounds, continuing, "Something along those lines!"

This is a little bit of a deviation from what Director Michael Bay said about the third addition to the franchise, which he said would rely less on the number of robots and explosions, but focus more on the robot character.

However, given the jump of explosions from Transformers to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, less explosions could simply mean we return to the level of Transformers.

The following is the segment of the interview involving Transformers 3:
Den of Geek: Are you involved in Transformers 3 do you think?

    Tony Todd: Yes.

    Definitely?

You want to quote me? What I was told last month, yes. But that's Hollywood!

Is there anything you can tell us about it? It's got to be worth a try.

No! There's more of it! [Laughs, starts thumping desk and making explosion sound effects]. Something along those lines!
For the full interview, which discusses more of Mr. Todd's past and future work, head over to Den of Geek.

Hmm...my only thought is that Transformers 3 might have flashbacks showing the begining of the War...yes, we've seen it in comics, but it would be pretty impressive to show Megatron and Optimus ruling together, their falling out, the Fallen tempting Megs and the rise of the Decepticons. Once again we're on the verge of a growing number of production side tidbits for a Transformers movie. Website My Entertainment World has updated with a very brief listing for Transformers 5, revealing when filming for the next movie is due to begin. With the publicity around the Writers' Room project recently we can at least hope that there will be a completed script by the time they fire up the cameras, though absence of such certainly hasn't stopped production in the past... Just as Michael Bay always comes back to do the next Transformers movie, it seems now a reliable trend that Michael Bay will choose Chicago as a shooting location. Maybe he just enjoys Portillo's, and I couldn't blame him for that, but whatever the cause it sounds like Chicago will see more robot action. In an interview with WGN Radio's Dean Richards focused on Bay's movie 13 Hours, the subject of Transformers and a return to Chicago come up briefly. We have a summary of the relevant portion of the interview. Click through to take a look, and to get a link back to the original if you want to hear more about 13 Hours.
Thanks to EDFHOBBIES who offers a first look at the 2016 Chevy Camaro 6th generation car release. While this one has been customized somewhat, it cannot be denied that Chevy is continuing to how love for Transformers Bumblebee namesake. According to the post, the black stripes and Autobot symbols ,and other custom touches were added after delivery. So we don't know if this is an official Transformers model, but it is still a Bumblebee to the owner and many fans.
