Bay Casts Some Big Names for Transformers 3; Shooting Updates - Autobot Ferrari

By johnDoe4880 on Monday, March 22, 2010

Transformers 3 Director Michael Bay has posted an update on his official website to provide some casting news, which includes the recruitment of some big names. The three actors he provided on his website include John Malkovich (Burn After Reading), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover).

Mr. Bay has also provided some shooting updates, writing that they will start pre-shoots in about a month and will shoot at a diverse set of locations within the U.S., including LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, and Texas.

Just like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the film will be going global, and will shoot in Africa, Moscow, and China.

Autobot Ferrari 458 Italia - Will the real Sideswipe please stand up?

Mr. Bay has also announced that there is a new Autobot in town, the Ferrari 458 Italia. He announced it during a Ferrari charity event where he was raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti.

Transformers 3 is set for a July 1, 2011 release with Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox returning as Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes, respectively. Kevin Dunn is also in negotiations to return as Ron Witwicky and Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, and Tony Todd have all indicated they will return.

If we can deal with Prime having flames, I'm sure we'll have to deal with Hot Rod not having flames. Of course if he does have flames, that just means the story will go that Hot Rod is Prime's son and he complains to Prime that he didn't have to kill Uncle Megatron.

I would love Hot Rod in the movie, but not without flames. I wouldn't try to guess who is that going to be just because it's a Ferrari, I mean, Sideswipe was a Corvette instead of Lamborgini, the Corvette would have been Tracks. Not to mention Ironhide and Ratchet. Who knows, it might end u... read more

I bet MB will do something stupid and move the flames to Hot Rod when/if Prime dies(again)....still don't like that they attempted to kill him so early.

this car is nice and all, but i still think sideswipe is the nicest looking car throughout the movies so far, with sideways coming in second. i hope this is hot rod. and if it is, and there's no flames, i'll be quite bummed. giving flames to prime and not hot rod would be cruel. but i do un... read more

Deadline is reporting tonight that Hasbro Studios and Paramount have reassigned Akiva Goldsman away from writing the next Transformers movie. Apparently so pleased with his success leading the Transformers writers room, he will go on now to run a similar project for GI Joe, and then again for Micronauts when time comes to develop that property for film. Reportedly Goldsman will still have a supervisory role over the Transformers movie scripts, but will not be directly contributing to them himself. Keep reading for more on the new writers being negotiated and the original article link below.
Prime 1 Studios continues its series of extravagantly detailed - and plain old extravagant - statues of the Movie Transformers! Limited to a run of 1500, with 500 including an exclusive severed Brawl head, Ironhide sports LEDs in his head and his cannons, and will set you back $1600 USD. Luckily there's a nice gallery of photos available so you can give it a nice, thorough look-over before you buy - keep reading to see!
We have our first good out of package look at the surprise movie Sideswipe figure that appeared for order on RobotKingdom this weekend. Thanks to Jimmy Yu and Ck Wong on Facebook, we've got several nice shots of the figure, showing off its extensive silver paintjob. Between that and being the Dark of The Moon mold, this may be the best overall representation of movie Sideswipe out there. Now, if only we knew why it was given AOE Crosshairs' guns... RobotKingdom has posted a listing for a brand new entry in the Movie Advanced Series, a limited edition release of Sideswipe. Based on the Dark Of The Moon Deluxe mold and for some reason including weapons from Age of Extinction Crosshairs, it becomes overall quite inexplicable! RobotKingdom has this as shipping on November 14, and as we have no word on other release avenues for this, it might be a good idea to jump on now if you're interested. Vending Times has reported on the third iteration of Sega's Transformers: Human Alliance arcade cabinet. An arcade-style lightgun shooter, this new "Super Deluxe" version of the cabinet sports an 80-inch screen and mounted lightguns with recoil action. Said to be "about the size of a kid's bedroom," it should be pretty easy to tell if the version you see is the Super Deluxe. Keep reading for more details and a link!
