Bay Casts Some Big Names for Transformers 3; Shooting Updates - Autobot Ferrari

By johnDoe4880 on Monday, March 22, 2010

Transformers 3 Director Michael Bay has posted an update on his official website to provide some casting news, which includes the recruitment of some big names. The three actors he provided on his website include John Malkovich (Burn After Reading), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover).

Mr. Bay has also provided some shooting updates, writing that they will start pre-shoots in about a month and will shoot at a diverse set of locations within the U.S., including LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, and Texas.

Just like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the film will be going global, and will shoot in Africa, Moscow, and China.

Autobot Ferrari 458 Italia - Will the real Sideswipe please stand up?

Mr. Bay has also announced that there is a new Autobot in town, the Ferrari 458 Italia. He announced it during a Ferrari charity event where he was raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti.

Transformers 3 is set for a July 1, 2011 release with Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox returning as Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes, respectively. Kevin Dunn is also in negotiations to return as Ron Witwicky and Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, and Tony Todd have all indicated they will return.

If we can deal with Prime having flames, I'm sure we'll have to deal with Hot Rod not having flames. Of course if he does have flames, that just means the story will go that Hot Rod is Prime's son and he complains to Prime that he didn't have to kill Uncle Megatron.

I would love Hot Rod in the movie, but not without flames. I wouldn't try to guess who is that going to be just because it's a Ferrari, I mean, Sideswipe was a Corvette instead of Lamborgini, the Corvette would have been Tracks. Not to mention Ironhide and Ratchet. Who knows, it might end u... read more

I bet MB will do something stupid and move the flames to Hot Rod when/if Prime dies(again)....still don't like that they attempted to kill him so early.

this car is nice and all, but i still think sideswipe is the nicest looking car throughout the movies so far, with sideways coming in second. i hope this is hot rod. and if it is, and there's no flames, i'll be quite bummed. giving flames to prime and not hot rod would be cruel. but i do un... read more

In a keynote at MIP Junior 2015, Hasbro's Stephen Davis touched on many topics related to the company's media franchises. In the process of answering questions, he revealed that the recently concluded writers room did not just plan Transformers 5, but that they worked to plot Transformers movies for the next ten years, which he suggests will take the property through an eighth film. He also specifically mentions Michael Bay's involvement once again, to no one's particular surprise. Video of the event has been posted to Youtube, so click through to have a look!
Today Deadline is reporting that TJ Fixman, known perhaps best to this audience For his contributions to the Ratchet & Clank series, has been hired in to Hasbro Studios as a creative consultant. Fixman's role will be to work with the existing media producers to help develop the fiction and media sides of the major brands, including Transformers. It sounds like Hasbro Studios is making a serious effort to up their media game, and only time will tell what influence will be seen from this latest addition.
Thanks to Genmon Photo Vault on Facebook, we have some nice photos of the Platinum G1 Dinobots. These are the Generations Series AOE Dinobots in classic colors and with G1-based robot heads, which for better or worse are probably the nearest we're going to get to true Classics Dinobots anywhere in the foreseeable future. Fortunately on that front, these come off looking quite nice with these decos and their retooling. Click through to check out the photos!
Hold up before you sign that check and buy a used car, because there's a statue of a robot you may want to think about first! Prime 1 Studio has posted an extensive image gallery of their elaborate Museum Masterline Transformers Galvatron statue, and it looks pretty impressive! (As it should for an SRP of $1,899 USD!) The Exclusive edition - limited to 888 pieces where the Standard run is 1,000 - includes Megatron's severed head. Keep reading to see!
In a message posted just a short time ago to michaelbay.com and his own Twitter account, Michael Bay states that as of right now he has not officially joined the production of the next Transformers movie. In the very brief and to-the-point statement, Bay notes that he has taken at least one meeting already and that things are being discussed. However, given Bay's track record, we don't expect to see Transformers 5 with someone else ultimately in the director's chair. Stay tuned here for more updates!
