Admittedly, Piranacon's massive noggin is a little goofy looking, but I can't say it really bothers me enough to spend $24.99 plus shipping to make it "perfect G1 figure scale". While I love the idea of "upgrades" for more recent figures, all the add-ons in the world... read more

I love how all their "upgrades" cost at least 1/4th the price of the toys retail price.

So, G1 Predaking's head is too small and Piranacon's head is too big? Okay. There's a review of the Predaking head in the Toy Reviews forum. I'm not impressed with the light up eye. It looks like they just stuck an LED light inside the hollow head without any afterthought.

The Transformers Fourth Party Club's Weibo page has posted images of Machine Boy's version of Astrotrain, whose name has yet to be properly euphemized in English. It's a pretty good looking toy in all three modes with some interesting features: the shuttle mode has a communications satellite; the robot mode's chest fin seems to be able to store in a groove in the torso to better match the animation model; and the train now has a coal car in case a robot space shuttle train with no fuel was too much disbelief to suspend at once. Click through to see him!
After revealing recently via CG design models a full out replacement for Combiner Wars Mixmaster, today Dr Wu has shown photos of a prototype piece. The figure's robot mode will stand somewhat taller than the official Mixmaster, but from the look of these photos doesn't improve on the design meaningfully. Also seen on their Weibo page are renders of arm replacements for Scrapper, and an improved crane arm for Hook. We've got the images mirrored, so click through and check it out.
From that talented folks at OWI who brought you the T3 Transforming Solar Robot, they have done a one-up and created the T4 Transforming Solar Robot. "T4" not only has more transformations, but it also comes equipped with bigger parts, meaning your younger child does not have to be excluded from engaging in some quality robot fun.
Something that should make potential buyers a bit happier with upcoming Maketoys products. Their site has been updated to show that the upgrade parts to make Deluxe Cyclonus more like the IDW appearance is its own product - MM-02 SP "E.A.K." - and Rear End (aka Not-Tailgate) looks like it will be sold solo. With any luck, MM-02SP will be priced similarly to the MFB weapon kit that sold alongside Trashtalk and Cogwheel, making it easily accessible to everyone who wants to makeover their Cyclonus!
The group Master Made has released a few new concept renders showing off their followup to the recently released Titan, a super-deformed style figure of Metroplex. Diabolus Rex represents Trypticon with a similar style of tweaked proportions, though that fact is certainly less immediately evident for the dinosaur body than it is on Titan's robot mode. We don't have any further information currently, besides that it seems to be aimed for a release late this year. Keep reading to have a look at the renders!
