Shout! To Release Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory In 1 Set
bwbm - Thursday, April 21, 2011

Well, this is a little surprising! While Shout! Factory did not really put up a big banner for this release, this is quite an effort that the company will release TakaraTomy's Transformers Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory all in one box set under "The Japanese Collection" banner.

The box set is scheduled for a July 5, 2011 release date, the same date as the Transformers Headmasters series box set, and will contain a whopping 13 discs.

The set seems to be available only on Shout! Factory's online store at this point for $89.99 plus shipping. The list price is $99.99.

It is not expected that any English-language dubs will be available on any of the series.

This information comes a day after we reported that Brian Ward, a producer with the company, hinted that the latter two series will be hitting DVD after the release of Headmasters.

He said that the company would be using the sales of the Transformers Headmasters to gauge interest for the other two series.

This strategy is similar to how Shout! Factory has been releasing their other Transformers series.

The company has most recently solicited the first season of Beast Wars and then made available a full series box set available through their online store a week or so later.

Shout! also sold the Generation 1 seasons as separate boxed sets and announced a bundled version as the Matrix of Leadership Edition around the same time.

Thanks Captain N!

A movie-inspired Optimus Prime is being released to direct retail. We have photos documenting the unboxing, as well as showing the individual figures, with size comparisons. Plus images of the instructions (in Japanese) and some details about the toys. Keep reading to see the whole works!

Amazon Japan has posted preorder listings for a Blu-Ray collection of Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers and Transformers 2010 - the Japanese versions of G1 Seasons 1-2 and 3, respectively. It's priced at 19,440 Yen (about $175 by the current exchange rate), is due for release on December 6th, and is region-free... but not HD-quality. Keep reading for details.
It's been a while since the first information hit about the collaboration project between mobile phone provider au and TakaraTomy to make transforming toys based on their Infobar handset. The first of these to be generally available is now up for preorder on TakaraTomy Mall. The Optimus Prime "ANNIN Version" is based on the white variation of the Infobar phone, and the robot elements are inspired by the movie series Optimus Prime. This product is expected for release in December, and is priced at 5400 Yen. No word on the availability of the red Optimus or the other characters shown previously. Click through for stock photos and product link!
