That said, I was/am annoyed about the BotCon exclusive Seekers. I didn't go into a rage over it though. Of course, if the only Dirge we're getting is a redeco of a Supreme Class mold... *sigh* Really small and really large Transformers (with the exception of Unicron) are not my thing.dirge is a repaint of this mould: http://www.tfu.info/2005/Decepticon/TRUSta.../starscream.htm
it's a "voyager" sized toy (& a small one at that) so it won't look too out of place :thumb
(also, welcome!)
other than being war within design amoung classic designs
[sarcasm]well that's not blatantly obvious[/sarcasm]
(i meant size-wise)
I'm not gonna read this whole thread. But I guess Atmo or whatever he calls himself now is happy.
:tflaugh Only until the TF2 figures start getting leaked.

Yeah. Although for me, the size difference would still be more of a problem than the difference in basic design. Though the difference in design between Cybertronian and Earth Seekers is also somewhat too much for me. I don't mind the wing differences between the three original Seekers and the "coneheads" though. In fact, if they released a Dirge using the Classics Starscream mold, I wouldn't mind at all. I wouldn't even mind if they released a Thrust using that mold. As long as the colors used brought the originals to mind.
Anyhoo...
Notwithstanding the Botcon Seekers debacle, I'll be getting this. Regardless of the chrome, I think he'll fit in well with the Henkei TC I preordered (I'm playing "wait and see" about Skywarp - I like my Hasbro one better so far, and it's accurate enough for me), and 1.0 Starscream can become Sunstorm or a Rainmaker.
I'm sort of wondering if Hasbro had any Thundercracker plans for the Classics Seeker mold, then why would they have bothered with Acid Storm? The new Starscream makes total sense, he was by far the most popular mold from the original run of Classics, and will still likely sell extremely well.
Plus the new paint scheme's HAWT [/paris hilton]

I screwed up the feet on my Classics 1.0 Starscream. Don't ask... *shakes head*
So when I found out about the 2.0 Starscream from the Big Bad Toy Store, I immediately pre-ordered it. There was no picture of it up on BBTS at the time, and no mention of any color changes, so I just thought it Hasbro just made more. Since it's a new version, I don't feel as bad about screwing up the first one. In fact, it might become my first try (victim?) at customization. I'd try for a Thundercracker.
I'm extremely happy that we got Ramjet in 1.0, since he's one of my all-time favorite Transformers. That said, I was/am annoyed about the BotCon exclusive Seekers. A few have mentioned not wanting the Henkei versions because they would essentially "clash" with the other Seekers. Well, as long as they're the same size class, I don't have a problem. Each one of the Seekers is an individual character. I doubt any one of them strives to be exactly like the others. They already differ in color schemes (and the "coneheads" in wing shape).
If Thundercracker wants to pimp himself out in chrome, while Starscream and Skywarp don't want anything to do with chrome, more power to Thundercracker. Heck, it would likely make him seem more interesting; stand out more compared to the other two. And I doubt Starscream and Skywarp would ostracize him just because of it. (And more fan interest in the new "T-Cracka" could lead to better characterization should Hasbro et al. take notice.)
Anyhoo...
what happened to banning for mentiong botcon angst?I know, right? :tflaugh
The mention of it stirred up some residual seeker ANGST :argh in me. My apologies.
In the end, it doesn't really matter to me anymore, as I have MP Thundercracker on preorder, and I will finally have all three of the original G1 jets together in a sweet updated form. Which is all I've really wanted all along.
So yeah I'm totally willing to drop this
yeah my anger went down after snagging a mp greenscream and making some thundercracker and tc stickers for the tail fins.
i still get upset about dirge and thrust though. 6 figures who are meant to be repaints, rather than just the whim of hasbro recouping the cost of the mold, should all be made as a general release item rather than used as obscure characters like acidstorm or g-1 accurate repaints of a character everyone already like in the original offering.
it's not only a slap in the face... it's a piss in my cornflakes
