Coming as a mailaway item via TV-Kun-San, we've got details about the 35th Anniversary Supreme Commander Convoy Box referenced during TakaraTomy's presentation at Tokyo Toy Show.
Starting at a price of ¥16,800, the box set will contain a golden colored "trophy" G1 Optimus Prime (cab/robot only with no trailer, apparently), along with an interesting assortment of supplemental material. Perhaps the most interesting is reproductions of G1 fan club mailaway materials, including a membership card, and the cardboard Command Center playset. Also shown is a S.T.A.R.S. badge, plus a poster and a 48 page Transformers book.
For a little over ¥21,000, you can get all of the same merchandise, but it features some degree of personalization where your name can appear in part of the print materials. However, since orders for the set are limited to addresses in Japan, and the name space is limited to 8 characters, this will probably not be something most of our audience residing elsewhere than Japan will expect to avail themselves of.
The preorder period starts immediately, and runs through August 31. Delivery of the set is scheduled for February of next year. We can't know currently whether the usual import retail channels will have an opportunity to get in on this, so you may want to investigate finding a reliable middleman service on your own if this set is something that's of particular interest to you. It certainly does seem quite unique as some of these mailaway promotions go!
