In a recent interview with Collider, Mark Wahlberg was asked if he had any inside scoop on the next entry in the Transformers movie series. While he's apparently not any more in the loop than the rest of us, he's also with the majority of the fandom in a firm belief that Michael Bay will return to direct Transformers 5, despite Bay's own statements otherwise. A range of sources have all hinted at this being the case as well, including signs that the fifth movie is being delayed until Bay finishes his own current project. Keep reading for the interview excerpt.
WAHLBERG: I don’t. Just that Akiva [Goldsman] and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But [Michael] Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back.
Do you think he’ll still ultimately direct it?
WAHLBERG: Yes.
